Yews vs Eucalyptus

Recommended Posts

I've always cut Eucalyptus for both WC and FM exp, but are yews better or worse in terms of ...

- WC exp/hour?

- FM exp/hour?

- gp/hour?

Yews are like ~42k xp/hr and eucs are like ~50k-ish. Neither one is decent profit, and they're both crap if you want firemaking xp. So yeah, eucs are better than yews, but that's a little like saying "Well, these cookies may be moldy and burnt, but at least they don't have walnuts."

You're much better off with curly vines, which are like 300k~ in fm and 30k~ in wc, or something, plus you get vine herb seeds for making juju potions. Or if you want faster woodcutting xp, you could do teaks, which are...what...70k? I forget exactly, but prolly something like that.

Teaks are around 100k woodcutting and 30k firemaking (and 30k magic or so if you alch the logs).

Settle down folks.

You would be MUCH better off cutting teaks (or vines if you want something to AFK) and burning some other log separately like maples/yews. Both yews and euc are horribly slow xp

On-topic: I've never experimented myself, however I have been told the Eucalyptus is superior to Yews in almost every way.

As has been suggested already, you could also cut teaks or arctic pine trees for better WC xp/h and then burn curly roots in the Jadinko Lair for better FM xp/h. Combine these with herb runs and you've got FM xp, Wc xp and a moneymaker.

arctic pines: 130k wc xp/hr

jadinko lair: 300k fm xp/hr

Thanks Ellac, that's the answer I was looking for.

I plan on training WC/FM AFK so Roots for example would suffer in xp-rate.

And Eucalyptus would leave me about 2k eucalyptus logs left to burn for 99 FM after 99 WC.
