Jadinko
How much better is storm of armadyl than fire surge. I'm using max mage/99 and all the good stuff. Miseryism | Completionist
Quyneax
Fire surge base avg hit: 140. Can use cstaff (120/115 compared to abs) and csb (105% damage avg if you cast in sets of 5).Storm base avg hit (106 magic): 225. Is one tick faster (+25% dps). So basically: ~1,83 times higher dps with storm. Vezon Dash
The dps is much higher with SoA, but unless you a tree that grows partyhats in your house, it may be worth it just to stick to fire surge.
enfield
Quyneax, its a bit higher than that even. The extra magic levels increase the base/max of soa in addition to giving the 3% boost, so it comes out to 1.93 I think. Recently arma runes were down to 1500. A fire surge is~700. but with 1.93 the dps of surge, SoA is not too much more per damage. Right now the runes are around 2k. Still, i don't see that as being very bad. When you factor in how much time you save using it, it's almost certainly worth it.

enfield
lol good point. no, it wasn't. it's actually 20% faster. but okay so SoA is 1.6 the dps/cast of fire surge then, not 1.93.
Powerfrog
Fire surge has slightly higher base xp per cast (90), but that is offset by SoA having a faster cast speed (70*1.25), making them almost equal in base experience.
Sinkhan
Why is experience relevant? Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Powerfrog
Why is experience relevant?Oh. I assumed they were going for mage xp. If this is purely for fast trips SoA > Rapier > Fire surge. With the obvious exception of strykworms.
Leaf
I would save those Arma runes until the new Slayer dungeon, at which point it may actually be cost-effective to use them.

enfield
Ah i see. i guess assuming cs and csb for fire surge is not that suspicious because the people who can use SoA have done that hard quest.
