Fastest method - DT

Aten

Recommended Posts

I just want to know the fastest way to

1. Get whatever it is that is required from the Dominion Tower for trimmed comp

2. Get the three gloves

3. Get dreadnips

Rest doesn't matter to me, additionally some advice on inventory setups would be nice. Assume I have never done any DT.

Do Climber matches [consecutively] until you encounter and defeat all of the class A bosses. Only go until you reach your first class A boss. This cannot occur until Floor 6, but can also take a few more, up to Floor 10 in my experience. I should add that during this search, if you get a class A boss you've already had, leave before entering the fight and reset by looting the chest. There's no point fighting the same boss twice.

Also, complete all special matches. The Nomad special match counts as unlocking him. The others do not unlock their respective bosses. You may wish to do this first so that you can just leave if you encounter Nomad in Climber.

After that, simply do Climber matches one at a time, looting the chest after each one. This is the best way to get pages. Although Endurance may be slightly faster, you will get next to no Dom credits. The choice is yours.

Everything in the rewards panel is required for the cape, so check there for specific, one-off achievements.

I'd say:

1) Do floor 1 climbers until you have all journal pages. Make sure you get each handicap at least once.

2) Do all specials.

You should now have around 400 boss kills and most bosses unlocked. To hunt for the remaining bosses, do 3) Endurance runs until you get a boss you lack, or until you die.

If you get a bomb reward you haven't had before (requires journals), use it in a fight but not versus a class A boss because I don't think they work there.

This is just a theory and hasn't been proven. But doing 6-7 climber matches (Just keep going until you get a boss you can't easily kill fast) is a MUCH higher journal page rate for me than doing 30+ or doing 1 and quitting, and i've all methods many times. It's also much better for getting dom weapons, mines, and helphorns.

The reason for this is because if you're doing 1 climber you'll get about 5k points. Which will make the reward box about 3 items + xp book and food (scorp and pots have a very high chance of being these items) whereas 35-50k (6-8) gets about 14 items, so you get the xp, you get the food and pots, then you get additional items like journals and dom weapons.

At least that's what i've experienced getting my 500 kills. I did 400 kills, about 250 of which were 30+ endurance and 20+ climber, 150 of which were 1 climber/endurance and quit. This got me a grand total of 4 pages. Using my method for 400-500 i have got 4 additional pages in very little time.

Try it out.

You will never get class A bosses on the first climber floor. For this reason I second everything Blutters has said: his way gets you the overworld rewards, the gloves, faster than your method, but gets dreadnips and trimmed comp cape at the same speed.

Without exact data and a larger sample size it's hard to say things with any confidence, but don't forget that you can probably do 6.5ish first-floor climber fights in the time it takes you to do 6 climber floors in a row. Even if doing 6 climber floors had a 5 times better droprate, it wouldn't be worth it.

It's faster to do 6 in a row than it is to do 1, claim reward, climb stairs... 6 times. I'm not sure how exactly you decided it was slower. (If you're thinking killspeed is slower with handicaps, it's not. Most do not effect killspeed and 3 nudges is more than enough to avoid the ones that do)

And i agree my 100 kills is nowhere near enough to be definitive proof, but from the small sample it certainly looks a lot better. There is no definitive proof the 1 and claim is better either.

And i think it's a hell of a lot more than 5 times more drop rate per chest. More like 20.

If you do not get journals first, you will not be able to get massive and collossal bombs while still doing anything useful. The idea is to unlock the last class A bosses along with the bombs.

Would you leave at floor 5 while trying to get class a bosses or continue further? I'm at 380, 8 pages ( :( ) and just need Nomad (which I don't think I can kill in double, but probably not with 5+ handicaps either) and Pest Queen. I've been hunting pages since 100 kills; have had pretty poor luck in my opinion.

If unlocking bosses, keep going on endurance until you can't kill a class A boss anymore.

Your method and my method spend the same exact amount of time unlocking bosses. But I get journal pages sooner, since I may have already unlocked them during the boss hunts. So, my method is fewer kills to unlock everything then yours, AND it unlocks gloves at 500 kills, instead of after, more reliably.

It's either:

Hunting for bosses while getting pages, or

Hunting for pages while getting bosses

If you have all pages and not all bosses, you'll get bombs during unlocking all bosses (massive and colossal).

If you have all bosses and not all pages, you'll get nothing during unlocking all pages.

So the question is, does it take longer to get the bombs than to get whatever number of pages you unlock during getting all bosses.

For me personally, the answer was yes, as I unlocked a grand total of 2 pages getting all bosses.
