Sbrideau
Hi guys, I am just posting here today, since I recently started playing again, and wanted to know, with the new things if there is a new way of getting fast smithing xp. If not, I'd still like to know what would be the best way to get 99. I am currently level 79 in the smithing skill and am aming to get the most I can out of my membership. Thanks in advance. Sbrideau
Thanks, seems expensive after 88, but it's not a problem.
GrandZephyr
I smelted 220K Gold ore with Gold Gauntlets from 68ish to 99. I don't suggest this method, it took me months to complete.
Quyneax
Thanks, seems expensive after 88, but it's not a problem. The best way from a maxing total perspective is superheating gold while mining it in the Living Rock caverns, using Varrock armour and goldsmithing gauntlets. If you only want smithing xp do what Tieszen said. Auror
I'd sugegst you to get 99 Smith by superheating gold ores from LRC. You'll probably get 99 mining, Magic and Smith.
Sbrideau
I'm already 99 mining, but from a magic perspective, this is a very attractive solution. I might opt for that!
Jadinko
Its around 130k mage exp/hour and 140k smith exp. It's very good for maxing 2 skills, but requires A LOT of clicks! Miseryism | Completionist
AxiSyn
Ceremonial swords are another good method to use for smithing xp, costing about as much as Adamant plates right now. Ceremonial swords are made at the Artisan's Workshop in Falador.Just for comparison's sake, from grimy's spreadsheets, the current xp/hr for each method: reg smelting gold w/gauntlets: 79k/hr cost: 1.87 gp/xp SH goldbars w/ gauntlets: 104k/hr cost: 4.5 gp/xp SH gold @ LRC: 48k/hr cost: .87 gp/xp addy plates: 215k/hr cost: 7.12 gp/xp Adamant ceremonial sword: 221k/hr cost: 8.6 gp/xp so take yer pick from there, theres a few other options, but they border on the ridiculous, like rune ceremonial swords, at like 60+ gp/xp :o :wall:  :ohnoes: Quest cape first Achieved 29JAN2009, Re-Achieved 15SEP2011, Cook cape Achieved 12APR2009 (Easter 2009)Strength Cape Achieved 20NOV2010Now offering assists for 97 Farming, 97 Smithing, and 97 Herblore, PM me in-game!!!Proud U.S. Navy Sailor
DyingSilent
If you're thinking about going for the Trimmed Completionist Cape at all, it might be feasible to do Burial Armor at Artisan's workshop. If you don't follow the instructor's calls, you can afk for about 5 minutes at a time, and gain respect for Artisan's Workshop rewards. Following the instructor's calls is slightly better xp, but probably not worth switching back to RS every 60 seconds if you have something better you could be doing IRL. It's slightly more gp/xp, but I think the afk/respect is worth it. 2461/2496 Total, 35 levels to CompletionistSunstriker: Path to Completionist Cape
