Will this work

RoW makes hatchets/rings/staffs more common. You barely pick up most of the mith ore/earth tally/ranarr drops that get replaced with potentially profitable or equally useless RoW drops anyway. WAT DO

As with many things in Runescape, a series of RNGs that are involved. Unlike a number of others, strings are stored in the variable, rather than an integer being stored in the variable (if a 1 is rolled, a literal string is stored into the variable, rather than the number 1). This is referred to as a roulette wheel (the other type is referred to as a dice roll).

After a monster is killed, two roulette wheels are spun: the main drop wheel and the secondary drop wheel. The main drop wheel contains exactly what it sounds like. The secondary drop wheel pretty much only contains charms.

One specific # (or, potentially, numbers) on the roulette wheel corresponds with the rare drop table. This table consists of gems, half keys, etc. In other words, once the number for the rare drop table is rolled, then another wheel for the rare drop table is rolled, and that number determines your drop. The thing is, there's a number of blank spaces on the rare drop table. This is what causes you to not get a drop.

Fortunately, the ring of wealth solves this. When you land on the rare drop table, the game checks to see if you are wearing a wealth or not. If you are, then a percentage of the blank spaces are removed, leading to a greater chance of receiving a higher valued drop.

That said, it's quite clear at this point that the row doesn't affect normal drops in the slightest.

More specifically, wearing a ring of wealth will slightly increase the drop chances of many rare items obtained from Slayer monsters and various bosses, as well as all clue scrolls.

Your explanation is 7 months out of date. Back in March, they changed the ring of wealth's mechanics to include drops like whips and hilts and, yes, DK unique drops. Seeker's information is accurate.

I assumed that just meant the rare drop table. I can't find anything stating otherwise.

You don't remember that huge game-breaking bug where wearing RoW gave the Corporeal Beast a 100% sigil drop rate? That was a pretty big deal at the time. I'm quite certain sigils aren't on the rare drop wheel. :shades:

In any case, they confirmed in the update FAQ for that week that yes, it works on unique rare drops now. The quote:

“Was the thought behind increasing the chance of rare drops to increase their frequency substantially with the RoW? Or is it just a mediocre increase?”

Mod Piesche: The Ring of Wealth will give you a small boost to the drop chance on certain rare items. There was a bug which caused certain bosses to drop rare items more often than intended, but this was detected and fixed very quickly and should only have a short-term effect on the economy.

“What does the message "Your ring of wealth glows more brightly!" actually mean? It happens on every kill so it is completely pointless and does not accomplish the intended purpose of letting us know when it changes something at all.”

Mod Piesche: The message lets you know that the Ring of Wealth has improved your chances for the coming drop. This does mean that it will appear every time when killing monsters that have a chance to drop unique rare items on every kill (such as abyssal demons), but the message does not necessarily mean that the drop you receive is rare.

Mod Mark: We wanted to be very clear on when the ring had a potential effect on the drop since it was the most common question about the ring before this update. You can of course filter this out if you turn your game filter on.

“Does Ring of Wealth increase the chance of Draconic Visage?”

Mod Piesche: No, it does not.

Mod Mark: It does effect a huge list of other things though including the sigils from the Corporeal Beast.

“Does wearing a RoW increase the likelihood of finding Effigies as drops? The message from the RoW activates too frequently to actually tell what part of the drop it is effecting.”

Mod Piesche: No - the ring does not improve Effigy drop chances.

Granted, they didn't confirm DKs specifically, but with the information they gave, it's very easy to test--just turn off the Game Chat filter and check whether your ring shines brightly on every kill. If it does, then you know it works on the unique drops.

Do Dags have the rare drop table?

They drop rare items exceedingly often, I've killed just under 200 (as per my sig) and I've had 50 rune bars + palm seeds already.

Do Dags have the rare drop table?

Yes, but you aren't going to hit the rare drop table on 100% of kills.
