Angelic
Never been and just got a Greater Demon task so looking to try them out. What would be the best set-up/invent to use? Looked at Runewiki and at the moment my set-up is: Slayer helm, Gano top+bottom, ardy cape, fury, dfs, CR, barrows gloves, dragon boots and row. Darklight for spec or EEE (not sure which I should use), Zammy arrow for protection getting kc. Would that be a viable set-up? Or should I switch cape/shield/gano out? Not concerned with up-keep cost of Gano either. What invent should I use? Have OVLs and probably switching from war tort to unicorn. thanks! Quyneax
If you're using Ganodermic, you might as well use magic (polypore staff or Storm of Armadyl with Armadyl battlestaff) which will give you additional magic defence, though you may want arcane for ranged defence. You can also use Armadyl and range, but that's not recommended. Melee-wise, your setup is good, although Torva would be better of course. You should spec with something powerful, e.g. claws, not darklight or dds or similar. Eee can do if you have no claws or if you mage/range. Komodo_Jo
All the GWD bosses are strong against magic, so don't do that. Also, Torva would not be better as you need magic defence to protect against K'ril's magic attacks. Your setup sounds pretty darn good. I might change out the DFS for a D Def, but you can try those out and see which is better for you - the extra attack or defence. I would agree that you should get a better spec weapon, or if you don't have anything better use the EEE - don't use darklight. You should pray protect melee and make sure you take antipoisons (++'s if you can get them). You'll need more prayer restore fighting him than other bosses as when he slams through your prayer he drains your prayer. Not gonna offer a suggestion for ratio of food to prayer pots and whatnot as it would likely turn out to be wrong anyway - you'll probably have to figure that out through experience. Quyneax
... Have you ever used Torva, Komodo? You'd pray mage of course, not melee. And I've had multiple reliable reports that Storm of Armadyl is in fact better damage output on Kree'Arra, Graardor and K'ril than a chaotic weapon. Polypore would be somewhat less than rapier, but it'd also give you an easy +30 magic defence. Andrew1019
strongly reccomend you do not use gano top + bottom, the range minion is extremely powerful and accurate, he will wreck you. i have done zamorak boss for slayer before, i usually pray range once boss is dead, using karil top + verac skirt/bandos tassets + dfs setup, and i still am hit fairly often by the range minion while killing kril (i have ovl + turm) for special attack, do not use darklight; claws (if possible) or EEE are what i would suggest. Solo Zamorak hilt drop, Greater Demon Slayer task. MudRune
According to BornforPvm the polypore staff is alright offensively on Krill but the lack of defense bonus you have from maging (he was using virtus with a gano top switch) makes it not worth it. Powerfrog
I personally used veracs/torags and prayed mage. This lets you successfully tank k'ril's melee hit, the range minion and the melee minion, while fully protecting against the magic k'ril and mage minion. Note that his melee attack often breaks through your prayer, which gives even more reason to use this method. Torva would obviously be better. Not sure if bandos is worth the defense loss. Claws would be the best special option, but dragon dagger isn't as rediculous as you'd think, with a dragon defender it's fairly accurate on k'ril.
