Item Set Comparing

In the item database, sets of gear do not have their compiled bonuses from each piece of gear from within the set. I was wondering if this could be considered for the sake of easily comparing sets of gear rather than piece by piece. This could save time and effort in finding which set of gear would be more beneficial to ones specific purpose. Anyone else agree or is there a better idea to propose?

Moved it to Website Discussion as it is better suited here :)

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

2672nd person to reach 2496 total.

Two things:

Yes, it would be easier to compare sets this way.

Why would you want to compare item sets? You don't have to wear all parts of a set at once, indeed sometimes that's not worth it (Bandos boots, Dharok's helmet etc.).

For the sets that are set-able via the GE (where you exchange the multiple items for a single 'box' and vice versa, to save space), you could put the set stats on the item database page for the 'box'. That would make a great deal of sense, IMO, though it wouldn't help for anything that isn't set-able. A link to the set 'box' page on each of the item pages for the items that make up the set would be nice, if you do this, as well as links from the set to the individual item pages. I would expect it wouldn't be hard to add a new category to the Compare Items tool to compare sets in this manner, once you made the change; you might need to categorize the sets as a new item slot, which isn't exactly correct but is close enough.

Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

Or maybe there could be something like a "set builder" where there's a set up (that looks like the in-game 'Worn Equipment' tab where it shows what gear you have on) that we could add gear to and see what the compiled bonuses would be. So if one clicked on the helmet slot, one could type in the helmet they want and add it to the set and do that with each piece and so on.

That's called the Equipment Builder http://open.tip.it/items/equipment-builder

And to everyone sharing ideas on adding item sets to the Item Compare, it's being looked into but definetly can't be a priority at the moment. It'd be good to have it on both the Item Compare and the Equipment Builder I guess, regardless of how much of a need it would be.

Thanks everyone for the suggestion :)
