Hmm, i suppose this may be really simple to change, but i'm wondering how i make firefox my default browser? If i try to click a link in MSN, for example, it automatically opens the site with internet explorer, which gets kind of annoying, and i have to copy and paste the link into Firefox. So, any suggestions?

In Firefox , open Tools > Options

on the "general" tab you will see "firefox should check to see if it is the default browser when starting.

Click "Check now" and enable it from there :)

On a side note , if you do run internet explorer and it also asks if it should be the default browser , go to IE's Tools >options menu , go to the "programs" tab and uncheck the similar box on the very bottom:)

Hope that helps

MSN's code doesn't send a message to windows saying 'open this link with the default browser', it just says 'open this link in internet explorer'.

In other words, it will do it in IE regardless of whether Firefox is the default browser.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

100% incorrect , all links I click in MSN conversation windows open a new tab in the firefox window I currently have open, or opens a new firefox window , if i dont have one opened already :)

Then you've probably either installed MSN 8 beta, or MSN plus or some other extension. I've only got MSN 7.5, and the hotmail email check, and the msn spaces links in the UI still open in IE. Which sucks.

My MSN always opened in default browser, even before I started using Plus!

Im using MSN 7.5 (build 7.5.0322) , Dont even know what MSN plus is or does , so it's not installed hehe, and everything and anything I click in MSN's interface , search bar on the main window , my msn space button , and all help and troubleshooting links open in firefox. Maybe it has something to do with hotmail being your .NET provider , or different services running on our systems , but i can assure you , IE does NOT open on my computer , ever :P

When I click links in msn windows it opens Firefox, however MSN spaces seem to require me to have IE open, then I click the link in msn and it will open in a new IE window. I'm using MSN 7.5 with msn plus 3.62 - and also the mess.be patch, can't remember what version.

Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone have a solution?

msn= nine msn corporation = Microsoft

IE = Microsoft therefore IE = MSN

so they make most things open in IE but now now links that arnt like myspace etc open in Firefox

so yes links in msn messages will open in firefox if thats ure default browser etc. But my space cause they host it they open it in IE.

Aussie Aussie Aussie,

:D
