I've been out of the game for a while. I quit about four years ago, joined for about a month when dungeoneering was released, then quit again. I'm popping back on again for the bonus XP weekend since I've missed all the others and figure why not.

 

Pretty much the whole game looks different from how I remember it, and there are of course a billion new ways to train every skill. I was just wondering what a few of the current most popular ways to train are.

 

Also, how the heck do people make money? I saw a thread saying that people could make 50m a week, but when I got 99 fishing doing monks that only got 30m or so. That was four years ago though...

 

For perspective, these are the methods I remember from when I last played.

Magic: High Alchemy

Herblore: Prayer Potions

Summoning: The highest level thing you can make affordably, for me it would be bunyips and locusts I think

Prayer: Dragon Bones on a friend's alter

Dungeoneering: No clue. Solo all the early floors and get a group for the last couple? Did they ever get around to making it solo friendly?

Magic: Low alching fish to train fishing/ Superheating gold @ LRC (I heard Plank Make profits if you desperately need magic levels)

Prayer: Bones on your own house altar if you have the construction level or house party world.

Dungeoneering: It sucks at low levels. If you despise it, don't ever actually train it untill level 50 or something (not sure on a good number). The xp rates are pathetic at the low levels. If you like it, by all means go for it, but if you don't like it don't force yourself. To level it instead, use all free xp on it. Things like penguins, tears of guthix, quest rewards, random lamps, etc.

They never got around to make it solo friendly; it'ts best by far to do it in teams. C1 your lowest floors (gonna call it half and half, but once again, not sure on the best number) and then find a team for the later floors, preferbly 5:5 large, etc. To find teams I highly recommend finding competent friends (or dg clans at later levels) to go with, because the themed worlds (117, 77, 148 ordered in skill level) suck, especially 117/77. But if you are forced to do the themed worlds, make sure to put some time aside, they take on average 30 minutes to an hour plus to do.

Why would I low alch fish instead of high alching bows or b-staffs?

Because high alching is terrible experience and low alching while barb fishing destroys the fish without making you stop fishing.

Magic: Plank make. About 130k/hour xp and a small profit.

Herblore: The best potion you can make that isn't ridiculously expensive, avoid uncommon ones like zamorak brews. ALL extremes once you have the level to create them, they're technically expensive per xp, but having them is invaluable.

Summoning: Pretty much what you said. The most important way to speed this skill up is to improve your charm collecting, waterfiends are very good at >120 crimsons an hour.

Prayer: Frost dragon bones on your own altar, regular dragon if you have a low income. (It's almost always worth getting your own altar, one because 70 con is a quest req, two because it's relatively cheap compared to the money blown on prayer anyway.)

Dungeoneering: Eh. It's hard to say. Teams are always better than solo, even for rushing the lower floors.

Does anyone have some money-making tips? Supplies are way more expensive than I remember them. (Dragon bones are over 3k? That's triple what I remember...) Though seeing a SGS for 20m and a BGS for 3m makes me lol. Whip being 300k sucks though, neutered slayer...

You already have piety and decent combat stats so hunting dragons will be the best moneymaker at this point. Farm herbs on the side as well while doing your dailies like buying seaweed, broad arrow heads, battlestaffs etc.

This, and work on getting rapier. If you want total levels, you should train slayer instead of pvming for cash. If you need money herb farming + dailies + some form of merching is the way to go.

Slayer and farming are among my favorite skills already so it won't be a problem doing that. Though I typically do more than herbs. Recently I've been doing snapdragon, limpwurt, cactus, and some trees for experience. I don't do the vegetables because I find them to be too much hassle.

 

 

Is there a list of all the "dailies"? I already do MTK.

This gives up-to date profits on some of the better dailies, while this is a pretty in-depth guide. Not sure how up to date the latter is, though.
