DG reward benifits

I really am struggling to see the benefits of dging past maybe 108 because I should have all the good rewards then. I honestly don't see much use in all of the rewards. Right now I have the chaotic rapier, chaotic crossbow, chaotic shield, coal bag, gem bag, bonecrusher, longbow sight, scroll of cleansing, scroll of life, scroll of augury, scroll of rigour, scroll of renewal, arcane stream necklace, spirit cape and soon to be buying eagle-eye kiteshield and the chaotic maul.

 

If anyone would mind helping create a list of dg rewards that I haven't bought with benefits that would seem interesting, even to just you, please go ahead I would greatly appreciate the feedback. I guess this is something of a motivation seeking thread for myself.

Scroll of efficiency is nice for people below 99 smithing/going for smithing xp, less so since Artisan's is competetive now but still.

Chaotic staff is nice for glacors and ice strykes. Celestial surgebox also.

Placeholder bonecruncher/arcane stream necklace can't hurt.

 

If you're desperate, either spent tokens on xp or try to entirely max your ring (that's like 3.6m tokens).

I'm looking to spend tokens for usability and while your placeholder and maxing ring suggestions are great ideas they really only should be done later when tokens are accrued and there are really no other good buys. I guess I'm trying to figure out all the niche uses for all the dg rewards so I know what to get.

As I recall you're maxed except for dg so I assume you're intending to get 120. If thats the case you're going to have a lot of spare tokens even after gettibg everything.

I know I will, but I also need some motivation to get there and this is why I'm trying to find uses to some of these other dg rewards.

Others are just simply obsolete :razz:, like the necklaces for example, it's more "efficient" to use a fury for the faster kills -> thus saving you the prayer points via killing faster rather than from the benefits of the necklace. Gravite stuff is useless unless you wish to F2P PK. Mercenary gloves only +1 range over barrows gloves but 0 defence bonuses, swift gloves +1 over mercenary. Only thing I forgot in my list is the prayers, you need those for comp cape.

Which I do have everything for comp cape other than 120 dg. Your list seems good to me both for items and the sake of efficiently saving myself time by using tokens on xp.

Is it worth getting cls over cr; cs over sol when i prefer cash saving over raw dps? Niches for usability of both?

CLS is useless if you have rapier + maul, CS is alot better than SOL ( CS has+20% damage boost).

 

Maul = bossing, PVP (c wars, soul wars, wilderness etc),

CS = Glacors, PVP (same above)

 

Obviously if you don't do any of the above activities, they won't really be of much use to you. But you never know what Jagex plans to release in future that might make maul/CS alot more useful than it is currently. I'd still purchase them closer to 120 as I'd rather have them than just 400k XP which is an hours worth of Occult floors.

 

Your main priority should be T10 Berserker/Blazer and make sure to save enough tokens at all times for T10 desp incase you come across a Hex.

There's the argument that the improvement of accuracy due to having a cls over a rapier is better on a small number of cannon heavy tasks. But that's dubious whether the cls is better anyway, and even if it is the difference won't be noticeable. I'd get it just because you will have the tokens to spend and it looks nice :shades:

Ok so you make a good point in getting cm and cs, but out of those and fks what would your priority list look like for slaying/pvm and would you care to explain a bit?

Although I'm assuming you're mainly gonna be dunging and not much else for the time being? If that's the case, just get T10 zerk/blazer before anything else.

 

And obviouslyif you manage to find a Hex, T10 Desp should be your number 1 priority after T10 Berserker.

I don't like playing the leader much so I don't really key though I could. I have friends who key and I just play handyman and have prom 2h, ssh and primal plate bound.. Why should I get blazer? I'm just curious because I don't foresee maging much? Other than misunderstanding the priority of the blazer I think I see where your going with the lineup and I agree with it for the most part.

I was told to think about binding laws as a dgers handicap until I got confident in running fast dungs. I guess I could break them for a csb. I ritually buy essence for comics so I guess I could just modify for laws as well. Seems a bit hard to manage getting the money for both at times though, but I'm sure I'll manage.

If you only have a small amount of ess at the start, just make 10 (x2) cosmics and 20 laws, gate ht, loot runes/coins and then tele back to make them when you can :) The rooms near ht give LOADS of coins in monster drops anyway. CSB is definitely worth binding

I keep seeing conflicting opinions between primal baxe and prom 2h. Which really is better and what's the info on both?

Even without a CSb, I was told a primal b axe was a better weapon bind than a prom 2h anyway. There's a spreadsheet with the dps data with DGS somewhere, one of them sent me the link once but I lost it.

That guide gives a great outline of pba vs 2h, and its worth a read for if you decide to change your third bind anyway :)

 

Basially pba performs better when targetting low defence stuff, and 2h is better on the high defence stuff. CSB is great with pba as most of the high defence things can be maged well :)
