bojangles
So far i have cls, arcane stream necklace, scroll of cleansing and life, and anti-poison totem ( only bought this because figured it would work great on pyr. plunder). My ring is tier 8 berseek (or how ever you spell it) and not really sure what to purchase next. I am thinking of a chaotic maul ( since i need a good crush weapon) but also debating on a celestial surgebox. Thanks for the opinions and advice. Ezee
A chaotic rapier is a good all round weapon.
Leik
I'd say your top priority should be the rapier. It's overall much more useful than the maul or CLS is. Mylez
I'd certainly go for Rapier first. Then Maul, for such tasks as WFS.
Sy_Accursed
I'd certainly go for Rapier first. Then Maul, for such tasks as WFS. Though arguably various things have shown Goliath Gloves (unarmed) and Rapier can pretty much equal or better Maul on WFS, so while maul does do well at WFS its not a massive requirement for the best kill rates. Platinum_Myr
Rapier for sure before anything else. After that it depends on what you do. I like Maul for some stuff but goliath gloves sort of replaced that. I like CLS for a few bosses. Between the two you listed, I would get the maul over the surge box. bojangles
rapier mainly because of faster kill speed and more diverse, since maul is just a crush weapon? and i mostly just do slayer, i only use cls on a few things like abby demons and bando's boss. The only exception is wyverns.

If you do Slayer a lot, consider getting a Bonecrusher and Herbicide after you have your Rapier and Maul. While it's true they don't give you much xp, they are really good at "cleaning up" your drops and making the task of looking through them for decent items much easier. Knowing that whatever herb you pick up definitely isn't going to be junk even without looking at the name is a minor but satisfying convenience on those long Slayer trips. ~ W ~
bojangles
i see everyone's point, but i get metal dragon tasks 1 out of 3 times it seems like and i always mage them. my combat stats are 95 hp, 93 str, 92 att, 92 def... ect. yeah i can easily melee them but i just mage them which is 89, 15k from 90. rapier faster kill count compared to cls and aby whip... tbh when i use cls and whip depending on targetgot stream necklace just for mage tasks and dont regret it at alli just feel like i got magic covered atm, and attack/str besides crush covered for all slayer tasks...i care about money but not as much as some people, nor xp waste, i was just to be as efficient as i can while getting 99 slayer. yes rapier has been on my mind but why rapier if whip does the same purpose... maybe i am screwed up in the head but i truly dont see why rapier. i know the advantages, but 1m repair cost to use over whip.... btw 89 slayer, 60k from 90 slayer. And the recharge is only 20k tokens and 200k gp, which is not that hard at all to accumulate. And it's not as if the charges run out all that quickly, a fresh 100% rapier will last you quite a while, easily long enough to justify its recharge. Sy_Accursed
If you truly think whip 'serves the same purpose' as a Rapier you may as well us a Bronze Scimitar tbh got the speed and the slash style so it 'serves the same purpose'But I'm sure you'd say that is stupid because whip has much better stats, which is exactly the rule that applies to whip vs Rapier. As for recharge cost Rapier is vastly cheaper in the long run to use in terms of recharge than Barrows and I'm sure you never batted an eye at that. Unless you are camping something like bandits opposed to doing slayer/bossing it is pretty much impossible to not make more than enough to repair it within the 10 hours; especially as the better stats means you kill a lot more in those 10 hours than you do would with a whip.
