I'd conjecture it can be wise to do them, Rolayne more so than Smiddi, on meds until they can see ahead just because it enables you to avoid being slowed down too much by some of the more pita events like snakes and swamp boat. April 20, 201214 yr Easy and medium followers on the easy or med path, and when they can see ahead, go to the path so that they can attack shit. Essentially you want the easy and med followers to be able to fight as much stuff as possible, so in a sense it would be mediums. Personally, I never did hard paths until they were able to see ahead and I saw it was something quick. The risk of a swamp boat, the morrttn place, [bleep]ing shit tons of snails, just sucks. Then for the hard followers blast through the easy paths until they can see ahead, and pick the desired path from there.

Presumably it's because the xp reward for completion outweighs the extra time taken to do the task, but then again you're running the risk of having your follower killed. ~ W ~

What Meredith said and to counter, it's not hard to keep the follower alive. If he got a snail on him (or whatever monster) and was taking heavy damage, all I did was attack the said snail and it went on me instead.
April 21, 201214 yr The xp for hard paths isn't much more than easy or medium. I rushed through easy paths with Smiddi and did mostly hard with Rolayne and they stayed the same level for most of it and were only a couple levels off at the end.
April 21, 201214 yr Keep in mind that a "couple levels off" means a lot more near the end, since level XP requirements scale. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement.Also check out my blug
April 21, 201214 yr Yes, but they actually don't scale as much as one would think. It's only a few runs difference in level gains, from like 98->99 then as 90->91.
April 21, 201214 yr Check and compare the exp bar for the hard characters before each and do a path of only easy and only hard, the difference between the exp gains is hardly noticeable and easy paths are much faster. (For hard characters)

April 21, 201214 yr Easy and med the best choice is hard because more fighting = more xp.But you have to balance their abilities agaisnt the route you take.1-30 easy is the best bet30-60 med60+ hards should be easy peasy.
