May 26, 201214 yr LOLOLOL ROW increases number of instances a "rare-drop" is dropped.If you don't like ROW wear Berzerker ring/Tokkul-Zo and move on. You will get rare-drops still. Luck be a Lady
May 26, 201214 yr You're asking for my vote, but not my input... Must resist urge to make political joke. The whole point of the shine is to inform you when it accesses the rare drop table. This is a far more useful feature than it only telling you when you get 50k. I used to get excited when there was a coinsplit at corp, till i realized that it's usually spirit shield or other garbage, so i waited an extra 0.1 seconds to read the drop. You can actually see the drop on the ground. "Stop getting excited" seems logical.

I'd say you must be new here, but your join date gives it away. Anyway, ring of wealth works fine. You just need to learn how the RuneScape drop table works. Think of it like two roulette wheels. When you kill a monster, it spins the first wheel which gives you your drop. For most monsters, some slots also trigger the second wheel which carries the more rare drops. When the ring of wealth "shines brightly", that is when the second wheel spins. The ring of wealth doesn't give you a better chance on the first wheel, but rather if the second wheel spins, the ROW gives you a better chance of getting an item from the second wheel.

He makes a valid point in that it should be changed so that you actually get a decent amount of coins BUT he misses the point of that the ring tells you when you accessed the RDT.

May 27, 201214 yr I personally hate the RoW. It means that i get worse loot for using the best rings (Or have to swap rings every kill, which isn't fun). They should make it a permanent effect after completing a quest or something, or just remove it entirely, it's a pretty terrible idea anyway.

May 27, 201214 yr You're a lot better off with ring of life. I always have my ring of life on me, because I don't wanna lose my expensive outfit. In my opinion the ring of life is the most useful ring in the game.
