Ready for Nomad!

Tip.it, I call upon you will a message of help.

I am at the tail end of the Nomad's Requim quest. The one thing left for me to do is kill Nomad himself.

I know its not gonna be easy so I ask you: What should I bring to the fight? My current thought of the killing setup is:

Head: Ganodermic Visor

Torso: Ganodermic Poncho

Melee Weapon: Korasi's Sword

Ranged Weapon: Rune Crossbow

Legs: Ganodermic Poncho

Off-hand: Dragon Defender

Ammo: Ruby bolts (e)

Boots: Dragon Boots

Gloves: Culirmancer's gloves 10

Ring: Most likely none, since row wont help here

Aura: Reverance

Cape: Cape of Legends

Inventory is stuffed with prayer pots, brews, restores and rocktails.

I do not have acces to ardy cape, fire cape, any 99 capes or eee.

Other than that, plz feel free to comment on what I should do. I am aiming to down Nomad on try 1.

Take a spirit terrorbird filled with additional food. When it's empty, dismiss it and summon a kyatt and use its scroll for attacking nomad. You should also fill your helmet with those scrolls, this will allow for even more attacks of the kyatt. It hits frequent 250s and does quite a lot of damage.

You also have the option to just use just brews instead of brews+restores. This will obviously bring your stats down to 0, but neither the kyatt nor the ruby(e) special effect need a range level to hit.

Advantage: You can take a lot more food into the fight and the fight itself is more relaxed.

Disadvantage: You do less damage(That of your regular range attacks) and possible will get hit more often (Because your magic is lowered, but I'm not sure if that has an effect in the fight)

I would recommend that approach if you're not used to using brews+restores, as it's simpler and you're less likely to mess up. If you're comfortable with brews+restores, I'd take the regular approach.

Ditch the melee weapon, will do you more harm than good. Bring ruby and diamond bolts. Use a BOB and Kyatt like previous poster said, if that doesn't work just use Kyatt while spamming scrolls and just worry about healing. That was what I did in addition to ruby bolts and it made the fight fairly easy after you figure out what to do

Actually the ranged weapon is probably less useful here, because ganodermic has a decent ranged penalty.

I would recommend the ganodermic with the highest total strength+attack bonus you can get, chaotic rapier highly recommended (you have 84 dg). Also, get at least a tokkul-zo ring (Elder Kiln quest, free ring with +4 in all attack/defence stats). I'd also recommend getting a better cape, such as a fire cape.

If you have ascendancy mines from dominion tower use them. 2 k damage per mine as long as its not a killing blow (hits nothing if the hit will kill nomad). That with all brews and kyatt/spam scrolls for the killing blow makes him rediculously easy. Otherwise what Q said is you best bet.

A lot easier to dodge his attacks while ranging since you can stay by pillars which is the point which will kill most people and the specials is what you are banking on anyways

Ok, so I've engaged Nomad three times and died all three times, even though I brought a ring of life with me. The ring does not go off, saving me, but will a pheonix necklace?

Im guessing Nomad doesnt like people teleing out the throne room.

Also, I have outfitted myself with the tokkul-zo ring (I'm using Ythaar title :)) Should I work on dunging till I get 200k tokens for chaotic rapier? I have about 103K tokens right now

Yes you should.

The ring of life only works when you are below 10% of your lp but not dead, e.g. 87 lp or less but at least 1. If Nomad killed you with a hit over 87, it simply won't work. Besides, tanking the lp-1 attack with a rol is a bad idea.

Phoenix necklaces work the same but at 20% lp, so 175 or less. They heal 30% of your health, 264 for you. But a Saradomin brew heals a lot more, so I wouldn't say it's worth it.

Well then, it looks like I have my work cut out for me. I have 116k worth of tokens toward the chaotic rapier/longsword (most likely rapier, cause of speed), and I shall keep going for it, come hell or high water.

Either way, once I get it, I am going to thrust right into Nomad's face.

Quyneax, thank you for your help. :) Runescape needs more people like you.

It is do-able without chaotics, I used gano, nezzy, ardy cape, drag def, korasi, barrows gloves, d boots, zerker ring and rune c'bow + diamond (e) bolts for when he froze me to spot

I had plenty of rocktails, war tort full of rocks and few prayer pots for constant piety praying, hardest part I ran into was keeping hp up when he went berserk melee, gano def there sucks. Was about 124 combat (i think) then with 99 att, 90 str 90 def, 78 ranged, 86 mage.

Took me about 5-6 attempts to manage in end, best tip i found was hide when he cloned, and just waited out the clones, saved so much food. Gl though on your future attempts :D

What do you die on? Do you run out of food or does one of his special attacks get you?

If it's the specials, you might indeed want to use range.

Maybe this will help you out, it's the method I used(What I mentioned above about only using brews):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTIQ8NjfcL0

I had no access to ganodermics at that time, so with that it should really be doable (especially considering I'm far from a bosshunting expert)

also, range penalty of gano doesn't matter here.
