Right I have a kalphite task and although I usually go through it fast I want to kill the kq a few times this time around.

 

My stats are:

 

91 Att

92 Str

92 Def

89 Ranged

91 mage

 

For the first form I was going to use a chaotic rapier with a dragon defender. Also use either claws spec or possibly BGS?

 

For the second, I was wondering if I should just stick with melee as I know she doesn't protect totally. Or should I switch to range?

 

I don't have a ccbow, so I'd be using a rune cbow with diamond(e) bolts or karils cbow.

I usually use range for the second phase with ccb+diamond(e)

Well I can give it a go I guess. Do you stick to wearing melee gear (bandos or the like) when you switch to cbow? Also do you bring a range pot?

Full bandos/dragon defender/rapier for first phase

and for the second just switch your BCP to a royal dhide or ACP and rapier to a rcb/ccb

I'd advise magic on the second form. It hits well, even on the first form actually (you can solo the KQ off-task using blood barrage and ss flashing, don't need a unicorn).

Wouldn't void be better for mage anyway than the bonus of a FSH, and if you're maging longer than you're meleeing wouldn't that make it the ideal choice?

Void mage is only 30% accuracy, no damage. And although void range does beat fsh in raw dps, the KQ does have a bit of def (I believe). Though most of her def is from prayers. Void mage doesn't usually beat regular mage gear without fsh :P.

Ya, as Q said, void mage is only accuracy. We're also not even sure it's 30%. No one's actually gathered that much data on it.

Def bonuses it definitely going to make a difference soloing the kq since you can't protect from all her attacks

Her max attack roll is so high that high def doesn't make a difference.

She's theorized to be 100% accurate with both magic and ranged. Strangely, her protect prayers are not 100% effective. She's the only monster with this system. It makes her much stronger :D.

Well, assuming the KQ has a max of 300 and you have 50% soak, you take her max from 300 to 250. The average hit would be 141 ((200*100 + 100*225)/300). An overall dps reduction of 6%, which isn't too great imo. Bandos is 3% more dps or thereabouts and does have a little ranged soak, so I wouldn't bother with gano.
