Going for my first pair now, I've read that they're amazing stat-wise and also great as a crush weapon themselves (good enough for me to justify not getting a mail for a while?)

 

Are they still useful in the EoC? I would presume so, but I'd like to hear it from someone who has tried them :)

 

Also - it is 500 boss kills, then a pair every 5 after that isn't it? This means it'd be super easy to get more after the initial work :)

Yes they are easy to get after you unlock them.

 

And as far as I know the Goliath Gloves are the best gloves (for melee + better than Torva gloves) in EoC but they aren't a weapon anymore.

They are better melee stats than barrows but don't have range or mage bonus like barrows do, I think they're similar maybe even better as a crush weapon than maul plus their special effect lowers defence (it activates randomly, doesn't use spec bar). They degrade quite fast though, they only last a few hours.

 

I haven't tried the beta but I heard they don't have their spec, maybe it will be added later though

I tried them in the EoC on Waterfiends and they were worthless. Waterfiends new weakness is bolts, unless they change it or they have other uses in the EoC then no they might not be worth it.

They have +6 image and +12 range...

If anything, they have cool particles. I do believe that they will still be useful since you get spellcaster and swift gloves in the process.

They're not even close to being worth it.

So the gloves aren't worth my time? I'm ~100 bosses in and I'm not bored of it yet, either way it's worth getting the 450 for dreadnips isn't it?

 

Pretty much the only reason I want / need these is for waterfiend killing for charms, but i know this is bolts in the update (which makes no sense), but there's a month before the EoC comes out and i could get a decent number of charms, yeah?

Imo, It's a luxury to have dominion tower gloves.

I got lucky and unlocked everything by the time I hit 500 kills and I love my goliaths I am just using swifts for the first time now and they seem cool. Spellcasters seem like utter crap though. It took me about 15 hours to get them and I got ~100k prayer and ~600k melee xp. I did mostly endurance though.

If you want dreadnips and value the other rewards highly personally just go get them. They will be best in slot after eoc afaik

In terms of efficiency, they're not worth the time. But hey; they're the best melee gloves in the game. And you'll get nips, swifts, and spellcasters in the process. So why not?
