October 27, 201213 yr Has anyone else recieved Assassin's Creed 3 early? My copy came today 5 days early! I don't know if the next bit of my post is allowed, if the moderators want to delete it that's cool. Edited October 28, 201213 yr by Kimberly
October 27, 201213 yr I want to get this... I really do. But there's so much stuff coming out at the moment 'coz Christmas. And I want Halo 4 more. First world problems. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
October 27, 201213 yr Author You could always get the game you want the most and sell it when you've finished it and put the money towards the next game. Oh the joys of not having enough money for all the toys I want.
November 1, 201213 yr I REALLY don't like the way combat is handled in this game. Having the B button be the complete counter button is just really... awkward for me. I miss the old way of having to hold RT+X. Since they got rid of the whole "controlling different body parts" system, a lot of the old ways of fighting/maneuvering around just seem weird. I don't know how, or even if you are able, to throw enemies. It feels like they went TOO simple, and made things more difficult than need be. Not to mention that a lot of enemies just plain don't show that red triangle before attacking. And it seems impossible to escape the Patriot guards. God help you if you ever get the three bar wanted thing, because one or two are almost ALWAYS on the street, and WILL SEE YOU, making it nearly impossible to stay hidden. So far, the story is interesting, but... I liked Brotherhood a lot more. EDIT: Also, the way the map is filled out is rather annoying. With such a huge map (especially for the frontier) I would've thought the synch spots would reveal more than just a little circle of the map, and even then it doesn't show much. Having to explore it all on foot would be fine and dandy, IF we didn't reveal so very little of the map while doing it. Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
November 2, 201213 yr Author Does the camera on yours keep getting stuck so your stuck looking at the scenery?
November 7, 201213 yr Yea it does get stuck many times. Decided to trade it in before i even finished the main story (got about 65-70% completed). After four freeze ups and numerous glitches, coupled with infuriating guards, combat, and controls (at times), I decided it wasn't worth it to keep playing, and got Halo 4 instead. It's a rather large disappointment. Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
November 9, 201213 yr I actually enjoy the combat (excluding naval warfare) and free running in this one more than I did in Revalations. It feels more smooth than holding buttons the whole time and slaughtering everyone. You can also cancel out of a kill streak by countering which is better than getting hit because you're locked in. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
December 1, 201213 yr A bit of a lite reply, but the combat reminds me more of the first game where countering & defense was more important, and the game wasn't as forgiving as the past few installments.
December 21, 201213 yr This game was really, really annoying. That's the only word to describe it. You can't hop from rooftop to rooftop without some silly sod telling you to get down, and if you dare silence the little [bleep] Ezio style, every guard within a mile radius will instantly have a beat on you. Oh, but you better not kill too many of them like you usually do with Altair, or you'll get notoriety level 3 and a metric [bleep]ton of elite units akin to the Janissary from previous installments will instantly spawn and either force you to run and hide or you'll almost assuredly die. Is a small area restricted because bandits are holded up there? Better not let the town guard see you there, or they'll attack you. And those bandits? Better kill all of them silently, because if you don't, every guard within the vicinity will get in on the action. Similar story with british forts and patroit guards. Also, I don't know if this was a bug, but when I was taking a british fort, it somehow upgraded me from the standard level 2 notoriety to level 3. Needless to say, I was instantly screwed by about a dozen elite redcoats. Now excuse me while I go take out all of the pent up frustration with AC3 by mowing down a few dozen Borgia in AC:Brotherhood.

I think that another 6 months of DEVELOPMENT would have made this game amazing. I don't have full sync, but I beat just about everything and I'm thoroughly satisfied. Also, the units aren't that hard to beat! :D
