The true blessing of Saradomin: A guide to bath tubs and wash basins.

Please note: This is a guide made for fun. It have been written for the competition hosted by 999134 here on Tip.It Forums. The competition can be found by following this link: http://forum.tip.it/...80#entry5332577

I have chosen to include wash basins as well, as they're very similar to bath tubs and deserve to be mentioned as well (according to me).

Most of the information...All of the information, I mean, here is to be read as entertainment. All the bath tubs, wash basins and other baths listed here are however real. They can be found at the listed locations in RuneScape. Feel free to go on a great bath tub and wash basin safari after having read this guide of mine :).

An introduction to bath tubs and wash basins.

History of the bath tubs in Runescape

A short section on modern day baths

Locations of bath tubs and ways to reach them

Wash Basins and ways to reach them

Other baths

A final tip

Thanks

An introduction to bath tubs and wash basins.

Today we can find many bath tubs and wash basins all around Runescape. They come in different variations and are suited for different kind of people. But they all are used for baths and they all have the same origin from the third age, when Saradomin, the greatest god of them all, invented them (more about in the history section of this guide).

But then, what is a bath tub, and a wash basin, in RuneScape like, really? Well, to answer this question I have travelled north and south, west and east, all over Gielinor. After a huge lot of work and examines, I now feel that I am closer to this explanation. It seems like you're supposed to, when at a bath tub, to:

"Wash here". And so it is. You really should, if you own one of these, wash there. There's no such thing as washing in a nice bath tub. There's also the examime:

"Running water – very nice!" A bath tub is a place for running water, most usually to clean yourself off with, which is indeed "very nice!".

But both these examines just describes a part of baths: There are also several wash basins which I think deserves to be mentioned as well. They have the same orgin as bath tubs and they're also used for the glorious process of taking a bath!

However, they're:

"Rough but adequate." They're still great for baths though, and I do strongly recommend to visit at least one of them during your adventures in Runescape.

This was the start of my great journey. The result of this journey of bath-tub-recieving-knowledge have now resulted in this guide, which I hope will give you, my dear reader, a better understanding of this blessing of Saradomin: The bath tubs and wash basins.

[spoiler=History of the bath tubs and wash basins in Runescape]

The history of the bath tubs and wash basins found in Runescape today all started with a magical experiment that failed. An experiment that aimed to create a safe place for the Stone of Jas. The Stone of Jas, for those of you who are not familiar with it, can shortly be described as an incredibly powerful stone that is believed to have been used by the gods to create Gielinor. More information about the stone of Jas can be found here: http://runescape.wik...ki/Stone_of_Jas (Just remember it was Saradomin, not Guthix, who created the world. The wiki is sadly not too exact these days...Bah!)

saradominw.png

Saradomin was during this time the holder of this ancient and powerful stone. Since he didn't want Zamorak, or anyone else for that matter, to get a hold of this stone he first tried to cast spells on it to make it invisible, inretrievable, send it to another dimension and so on. He was really serious about this. But since Saradomin at this time unfortunately was pulled into the greatest war our world have ever seen, he was rather stressed, and his magics didn't work properly. Every single one of his spells failed. Saradomin decided to change his tactics. If he couldn't hide the stone in another dimension, or make it invisible, he knew he would have to hide it at a place none would ever search. A place where you would never expect to find the most powerful item in the world. A place where Zamorak, the god of evil, would never think of heading to. And where would that be? Saradomin knew since earlier that Zamorak hated everything that had with cleaness to do (not so strange, he was busy with creating evil, and just look at his followers! Demons and imps, for example, how clean are those creatures? Probably they had never seen soap in all of their lives!). So, as the wise man he was, Saradomin concluded that the bathroom would be the perfect place to hide the Stone of Jas. After having brought the Stone of Jas into his bathroom he took a swipe of an extreme magic potion a fellow follower had made him and focused his magic. Then he spoke and the world shivered:

"I, the mighty Saradomin, want to create a place to store this powerful artifact. A place where it will be safe for eternity. A place which is clean and very nice, with running water and of a round shape to hold this stone safe from Zamorak and everyone else who might misuse its powers."

And so, before his eyes appeared the first ever bathtub. Complete with running water, and indeed, very nice. Saradomin didn't believe what he saw in front of himself. The bath tub was beautiful. But it was too small, and the Stone of Jas would be clearly visible in it. His experiment had failed once again. He let out a loud cry and stormed out of the house, bringing the Stone of Jas with him, leaving the bath tub behind. Saradomin would later hide the Stone of Jas at Fist of Guthix, but that is another story. The bath tub however would not be totally forgotten.

Much later, a follower of Saradomin found the bath tub in his master's bath room. He found that you could use it for cleaning and started to spread the word of this great invention. He would praise Saradomin for creating this great item. And soon bath tubs started to appear every here and there in the world. Amongst the followers of Saradomin they became holy and are now commonly used for prayers.

So, whenever you hear some crazy stories about bath tubs being invented by Zarosians, or anyone else, remember that it is Saradomin that you have to thank for the bath tubs. It is his true blessing.

[spoiler=A short section on modern day bath tubs and wash basins]

Today's bath tubs are rectangle-shaped with rounded corners, usually quite deep, and most often white in colour. They're used for taking care of your hygiene, making sure you are clean. They are very rarely used by followers of Zamorak (that is another reason to why Saradomin is the most pro god of them all). Bath tubs are still most usually found in bathrooms, but they may also be found in some other strange locations. For a complete listing of bath tubs in Runescape, please see the next section.

Important note: Moden day bath tubs or wash basins have never really been intended, in the modern days, for holding ancient artefacts. And it's NOT recommended by this guide or its author to do so. Doing so could create a combination of ancient, sacred Saradomin power/magic (that is created and bound together with the bath tub or wash basin whenever a new one of these are created) could mix up with the artefacts power and possibly lead to the end of the world. Just a fair warning ^^.

Locations of bath tubs and ways to reach them

[spoiler=Varrock]

Varrock Palace, second floor.

bathtubvarrockpalace.png

Examine: Running water – Very nice!

Information: This bath tub is in the great Varrock Palace. King Roald and other members of the royal family often uses this one. This is of course to get the blessings of Saradomin, as support for ruling the kingdom.

How to get here: Teleport to Varrock Square, and run north to Varrock Palace. Climb up the stairs n the entrance hall and go east and you will find yourself in the bath room with the bath tub in. Alternatively you can run east from the Grand Exchange, if you have your teleport to Varrock set to the GE, and then enter the Varrock Palace from there, climb up the stairs and head to the bath tub in this way.

varrockpalacebath.png

[spoiler=Falador]

East Falador, house just north of Artisan's workshop, second floor.

bathtubfalador.png

Examine: Running water. Very nice!

Information: This bath tub is often used by the workers of the mines and workshop nearby. After a long day at work they can use this great tub to get clean. A great way to restore your powers with the help of Saradomin's powers. Awesome! (However, the owner of the bath tub of the house, and bath tub, a human, doesn't think it is too awesome, since the dwarves didn't ask for permission to use the tub...Ewwww).

How to get there: Teleport to Falador, either via lodestone or by normal spellbook's teleport, and run east to the eastern square. Go up the stairs to the tub. Alternatively you can use the cabbage teleport and run north, and then head east and to the building that way.

faladorbath.png

[spoiler=Draynor]

Draynor Manor, second floor, south east corner room.

bathtubdraynormanor.png

Examine: No examine.

Information: Even at the darkest of places, there's always a glimpse of light. Even so in the terrifying Draynor Manor. In this dark place you can find a beautifully carved bath tub; A true proof of that Saradomin, hail him, is everywhere.

This bath tub is a mystery. Who have placed it here, and why? An adventorous priest who came to slay the vampire in the mansion and felt that he needed a relaxing bath before the fight, perhaps? I don't know. But certainly it is a piece of beauty.

How to get there: Teleport to Draynor Village lodestone, then run north to Draynor Manor. Enter the house and climb up the stairs. Then head to the south east room here, and you will find yourself at this wonderful bath.

draynormanorbath.png

[spoiler=East Ardounge (3 bath tubs!)]

With three bath tubs in the same place, East Ardounge is a must for any loyal Saradomin follower to visit! One of them is even located just next to the beautiful, Saradomin church which makes this bath tub perfect to take a bath in before or after sending your prayers to our Master for His great creation of bath tubs.

Bath tub location one:

East Ardounge, house just south of the church, second floor, room to the southwest.

eastardoungebathtub1.png

Examine: No examine.

Information: Located just to the south of the Saradomin church, this bath tub is often used be the monks, priests and other followers of Saradomin. Either as preparation for a visit in His presence, or as a nice round off after a visit to the church.

How to get here: Teleport to Ardounge, either with the Ardounge teleport spell in the normal spellbook or by using the lodestone. Go to the house just south east of the church (not the general store one), and walk up the stairs. Then head to the south-western room to find yourself at this bath tub.

location1eastardoungeba.png

Bath tub location two:

East Ardounge, house just west of the log shortcut.

bathtubeastardounge2.png

Examine: No examine.

Information: This bath tub is located just west of the log shortcut, in Elena's house (after the completion of Plague City). Elena, a loyal follower of Saradomin as she is, cleans herself here every day. A true hero like her, uncovering west ardounge's secrets and stuff, certainly deserves a bath every now and then!

How to get here: From the other bath tub, either head north to the log cross shortcut and cross it, if you have agility level to use it (33), or go west and then north to the house just west of the log shortcut. Head inside the house and up the stairs. Then head to the westernmost room and you're at the tub!

If heading to this bath tub from anywhere else outside of Ardounge, teleport to Ardounge lodestone or Ardounge by using the normal spellbook's teleport, then either use the bridge to the south west or the log shortcut to the west to cross the river. Enter the house just west of the log shortcut, head upstairs and go to the westernmost room, arriving at the glorious bath tub.

eastardoungebathlocatio.png

Bath tub location three:

This bath tub requires the Tribal Totem quest to access!

East Ardounge, house just north-east of church (Handelmort's mansion).

bathtubardounge3.png

Examine: No examine.

Information: Just like any Lord worth the name, Lord Handelmort has a bath tub in his home. This wonderfully carved, wooden bath tub is used every day by the lord, when he prays to the one true Lord of his, and everyone else (who believe in the correct Lord of course, Zarosians, Zamorakians and you all other doesn't count); Saradomin. Just remember that to visit this bath you need to teleport into the mansion. More information on this below.

How to get here: Teleport into the house by speaking to wizard Cromperty, in the north east of Ardounge. To reach Ardounge you could follow any of the other recommendations in the previous bath tub sections above. Then simply head through the two western rooms to arrive in the bath room, where you will find this wonderful bath tub.

bathtublocationardounge.png

[spoiler=Baxtorian Falls]

Baxtorian falls, house north of Combat Training Camp, west of Fishing Guild.

baxtorianfallsbathtub.png

Examine: Wash here

Information: A bath tub in a beautiful enviroment. With the great waterfall nearby, you can really feel the presence of the natural power of the world that Saradomin created for us all to live in (Guthix created the world, you say? Are you crazy?! It was Saradomin). A wonderful place to rest and bath at for sure.

How to get here: Teleport to Ardounge, or Ardounge Lodestone, and run north until you arrive at the fishing guild. Then head west along the guild's south side, and then north west until you arrive at a big house just south-east of the waterfall. Head inside and you will find the bath tub on the ground floor.

baxtorianfallslocation.png

[spoiler=Pollnivneach]

Pollnivneach, the big house just east of the well and the kebab store, second floor.

pollniveachbathtub.png

Examine: Wash here

Information: A bath tub far out in the desert. Here there're plenty of people who believe in different gods, so it's great to see a holy bath tub so far out among the sand dunes and pyramids! This bath tub can be used to restore your health after adventures out in the desert sun.

How to get here: There are a few teleports to Pollnivneach. If you have your POH here, simply teleport to your house and then walk to the house east of the well. You could also use a slayer ring to teleport to Summona, the slayer master in Pollnivneach. You could also use the magical carpet, for example from Shantay Pass, to reach Pollnivneach. Thereafter you would run to the house just east of the well, head upstairs and go to the southernmost room to find this lovely bath tub.

pollnivneachbathtub.png

[spoiler=Fisher Realm]

The quest Holy Grail is required to access this bath tub.

Fisherking's Realm, house in the north-west of the realm.

bathtubfisherrealmwashh.png

Examine: Wash here

Information: The holy bath tubs of Saradomin proved to be so popular that they spread across dimensions. That's why you can now find bath tubs even in other realms, like the Fisher Realm. This Holy Bath Tub is great to relax in after having found and retrieved the Holy Grail.

How to get here: Either use the fairy ring code BJR to access the realm or blow a magic whistle under the tower north of the gold mine on north-western Karamja. Then head to the house in the north-western part of the area to find the bath tub.

fisherrealmrunescapebat.png

Locations of wash basins and ways to reach them

[spoiler=Witchhaven]

Witchhaven, house just south of church.

bathbasinwitchhaven.png

Examine: Rough but adequate

Information: A very useful wash basin, very close to a Saradomian church. Here you can take a good bath after or before sending your prayers to Saradomin, perhaps before heading out to sea to fish?

How to get here: Either run east from East Ardounge, or use the fairy ring code BLR (close to the Legend's Guild) and run south to Witchhaven. Then head to the house just south of the church and step inside to find this wash basin.

witchhavenbath.png

[spoiler=Piscatoris Fishing Colony (2 wash basins!)]

Since these wash basins are very close to each other, the information and how to get here information is shared for them both. It's posted after the two pictures and examines.

The quest Swan Song is required to access these wash basins.

Location 1:

Piscatoris fishing colony, house just east of the bank/general store.

washbasinpiscatoris2.png

Examine: Rough but adequate

Location 2:

Piscatoris fishing colony, house just south of the bank/general store.

washbasinpiscatoris.png

Examine: Rough but adequate

Information: Even in such a remote area as this one, there's a chance to take a bath! There's even two wash basins here, so two people can bath at once. Just remember to watch out for the not too friendly skeletons.

If you feel like you're never catching any of those monkfishes, head here, relax and pray some and soon your inventory will be full of those fishes!

How to get here: Either use the fairy ring code AKQ, talk to Kathy Corkat just west of the fence of the Tree Gnome Stronghold to let her take you up the river to the colony, use a Phoenix Lair Teleport or run from Ardounge. Once at the colony, head to any of the houses south or east of the bank/general store.

piscatoris.png

[spoiler=Fishing platform]

The quest Sea Slug needs to have been started to access this wash basin.

Fishing platform, south-western house, first floor.

washbasinfishingplatfor.png

Examine: Rough but adequate

Information: Fishing can get rough at time, especially when you're in the middle of the sea. Strong winds, rough sea and heavy rain can make you feel like your soul is split apart. Luckily there's a handy wash basin out here at the fishing platform. Great to relax in after a long day of reeling in those fishes.

How to get here: Take the boat from Witchhaven, by speaking to Holgart, and then run to the house in the south-west. Enter it and you'll find this wash basin.

fishingplatformbath.png

Other baths

A few other baths deserves to be mentioned here as well. I would like to start with the baths at Oo'glog. Ogres are not really the smartest of creatures. Something which is proven partly by that they follow Bandos. As you all should know now, Saradomin is the one and only true God.

These baths was created by a crazy priest, who had drunk a bit too many Asgarnian Ales when he tried to create a bath tub big enough for ogres. He wanted to convert them to Saradomin. Well, his spells went wrong, several times, and he ended up in quite a sad way...The ogres of that time got full anyway.

ooglogbaths.png

Oo'glog can be reached in several ways, some of the fastest being by travelling east from Mobilising Armies, by using the fairy ring code AKS and running south or by using the teleport option of a spirit Larupia.

The whirlpool at Baxtorian Falls is a bath for those who seek adventure. Jumping into this one will certainly give you a kick of adreanaline! Just make sure you bring your weapon and your armour, since you will arrive in an ancient cavern full of monsters.

whirlpoole.png

To get to the whirlpool, run south from Barbarian Outpost/Assault (which can be teleported to by using a games necklace) or run north from East Ardounge.

For those who didn't find that whirlpool extreme enough, you could try the green slime pool at the ectofuntus. This pool would be awesome to take a bath in! Just watch out for the ghosts.

poolofslime.png

The fastest way to reach this pool is by teleporting to the ectofuntus by using the ectophial. If you don't have access to this item, you can run east from Canifis.

Except these baths I can also mention that there are many, many wonderful fountains all around Runescape that can be used for bathing...But that is for another guide.

fountainy.png

A final tip

Now when you have your body all clean, perhaps you want to have your clothes cleaned as well? Then I recommend a visit to the Fight Arena south of Ardounge, north of Yanille. Here you can get your clothes nicely washed!

washingbasketfightarena.png

fightarenamap.png

Get here by simply heading north from Yanille, or south from East Ardounge.

Thanks

I would like to give a great big thank you to those who have helped me with this guide;

The followers of Zaros...Those poor souls. They have been fooled to believe in a fake God. They're certainly meaning well. But they're tumbling around in the darkness. There is hope for them though. All they need to do is to open their eyes and join us, the Saradomians, and everything will be forgiven. He, the Almighty Saradomin, will forgive them for their sins and bring them back into the light.

So, fellow Zarosians, join us! All your sins will be forgiven and we offer you the chance to bath in the holy bath tubs and wash basins like all fellow Saradomians.

Utter lies. Zaros is the only true Lord here. It's clear that the bath tub was his creation. As soon as he returns, he will trounce those who believe in Saradomin, confining them to washing with pails of water, whilst the true followers, those of Zaros, are freely allowed to bathe as they so choose, throughout the land.

So are the followers of Zaros lying, or just confused? :P

If the TET was still around, we would have gotten a religious war (in the form of fun, lighthearted minigames) out of this. A pity :sad: .

Oh, old TET...I miss you too. I used to attend those events every now and then. I remember paying for slaves for example, and visiting some of the quizzes. R.I.P. TET.

Tansuo, I really am very sorry, but as a follower of the true master Saradomin, I have to try to make you confess to the proper bath tub religion here. Your ways are wrong. Please, turn around now before it is too late. Or you might yourself end up as a simple towel, forever judged to clean off the dirt of dwarven miners. And trust me, that is no nice fate. No nice fate at all. Especially not since dwarves take a bath every twenty years or so...

Thank you for reading my guide. Saradomin truly is the true ruler of the world. And by the way, I love your signature. Majora's mask is one of the best Zelda games ever.

Didn't mention bathtubs as a teaser and possible item of use for Sailing.

Sorry, Player Owned Ports are coming instead. Ofc with bath tubs in every single port. Or you will never be able to do any voyages.

By "time to go get likes :D" you mean let's go and beg people who I don't even know for likes.

I really don't know why you suddenly became so negative. Didn't take a bath for a long time, probably :) You should join our fellow Saradomian order, and you will see that thanks to His light you will feel much better.

I don't think you understand the difference in pm'ing people, begging for likes, and them actually enjoying your guide and wanting you to win.

You've completely screwed up the competition, something that should have been fun and enjoyable, with the prospect of some free gp clouding your judgement.

It has turned from a quality of guide contest to "who can swedishboy5 beg to vote on his guide, even if he doesn't know them" contest.

I want to win this competition, that is why I asked people to vote for me. Just like in any competition I enter I do my best to win. I have not begged anyone to vote for me. I have asked them to do so. If they said no, then that is fine. Now there's no more voting though. I still find this competition to be fun and I hope you can still find it to be as well. The "free gp" is just a bonus, if I now would happen to win.

Then withdraw from winning the prize, if it now means so little to you that you would view it as a bonus".

I won't do that. If I win, I have deserved the prize. If anyone else does, they deserve it. Now it is all up to 999134. The best of luck to you, Tansuo :)
