Dragon Age 3: Inquisition

Featured Replies

This won't be out for a while, but figured I'd make the thread :)

I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, Origins was one of, if not the, best games I've ever played. I spent several hundred hours on it across various playthroughs.

Dragon Age 2 I wasn't so keen on for various reasons, but Bioware have listened to a lot of feedback (and sales figures...) and are planning to make the next game more like DAO, so I'm moderately excited about it again :P

There's a newspost here which has a little bit of information on it.

If you're really interested there's a recording of a Pax East panel here which goes into a bit more detail (ignore the video title, it's about DA3 in general)

Finally there's the Bioware Social Network here if you want to see what some of the developers and writers have to say, or just join in the speculation :)

DA2 sucked hard.

The first one was good, but the second one oh man.

The story was boring and the other characters were fricken dumb or creepy.

No offense but I'm not gay and I don't like getting hit on by every male companion not to mention the pirate wench who acts like she is a 13 yr old boy.

I won't get this because they all but abandoned the origins strategy style combat in favor of button clicking "because the game needs to be more accessible"...

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

Same sex companions didn't hit on you unless you chose suggestive dialog. Maybe you should look at your choices in the game and why you chose them o_O

I loved DA and DA2. So long as we don't repeat the pitfalls of ME3 and they take what they've learned (Leviathan DLC was great, for example, for rounding out the story) and keep sliding down the streamlining slide, it will be a great experience.

Loved DA:O. Didn't like or play DA2 as much. I much prefer the slow, D&D-esque combat as opposed to the more streamlined version that seemed more of the regular console quick button pressing.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Except Anders, if you're male Hawke.

Yeah but if that's how the character just is, I don't think a lot of them were supposed to be advances. He's just a weird, needy character that's overall annoying. (Plus I got burned badly as he was the first character I made Hawke have a relationship, and, well, you know how that goes. Almost as bad as Fenris.)

It's been so long that I've played these games, I don't remember the story much. I do remember I want Morrigan back though :P

Did you play as a male Hawk?

I did and Andrew, the creepy elf guy, and stupid pirate [bleep] all made sexual advances to me before I quit the stupid game. (Well that and Hawk's sister just dies which pissed me off).

FYI, I didn't play the first one as a romance game nor am I into those kinds of games and this one was just jamming that bs down my throat.

The only character I liked was Aveline everybody else was uninteresting turds.

I started DA2 but I got tired of the pop-up enemies pretty quickly, not my type of game.

And I too was hit on by several guys as male hawke...and I was referred to as female in several conversations (I played it in german, so there's a difference between male and female version of nouns)

Dragon Age 2 didn't happen. Dragon Age: Origins is the only game in the franchise.

I'm very excited to see this game. I am a little confused as to what the Breach actually would be and how (if at all) it relates to DA:O. I feel like it will have the most tie-ins with DA:2 instead, which makes me wonder if it will be enough to silence those upset with how DA2 played out.

This has caught my attention. I've not actually finished DA:O yet, but it's been a fantastic game so far (it is however not the type of game that I primarily play, hence the slow pace). DA2 looks dicey to me from the get go, so if this comes out in time, I might skip that.

3 looks like 2 just with better graphics.

I won't consider it.

Origins is one of the best rpgs of all time.

Shame they couldn't build on it.

I was wrong.

It's actually more like 1 than 2.

So, I bought it.

I micromanage every battle in tactical mode just like 1 which was my biggest complaint of 2.

Well that and the mundane story was constantly interrupted by juvenile, erotic/homoerotic trash bits.

The graphics are top tier but it runs like crap so I have to save frequently for those crash moments.

The camera needs help... it's too fiddly.

The camera controls aren't that fluid and it gets bogged down when the camera inexplicably goes top down about 1 foot off the ground in some spots for no good reason.

They dumbed down the AI of everything so it behooves you to turn it off on your guys.

I like the guard/barrier system with minimal healing available.

It definitely seems more strategic.

The story is also far more interesting and 30 hours in I have yet to be involved in an idiotic flirting contest with a [bleep] or sexually harassed by anybody of the same gender. :D

Although this may be due to the fact that I picked a female dwarf as my character....
