Was looking to stroke my nostalgia...

Featured Replies

But Jagex deleted my ruenscape account. Like, it straight up doesn't exist anymore. Likely due to ~4 years of inactivity but that's not how Jagex used to work. I fully expected to be able to return whenever. Perhaps I got "rollbacked" into oblivion, I don't know. I just know my account can't be searched for or logged into, and the "contact Jagex" is so convoluted I gave up. Of course giving up implies I really don't care much. Still...would have been nice to give my account a proper good bye. I dumped thousands of hours into it, I'd have liked to see it one more time. I 'scaped back in the '05 days, in 06Scape. Runescape's true glory. I basically had quit by the end of '07, returning briefly in the '09 era, and an occasional visit here and there. I have a lot of memories attached to that account. Some I could never even hope to make again. Even if I can't log in to it, I wish I could see the stats. I want to bask in the trophy state of the origin of what has become my online handle, crafted by prepubescent me. I kind of wanted to do a quick tour of the new runescape (I hear there's been many changes since my last nostalgia trip when dungeoneering came out) and I would have enjoyed viewing it through my properly leveled character. I sure don't feel like making a nooby just to look around. Of course, from what I've gathered over the years is that Runescape is hyper noob friendly now. I had to earn my way to the top as a fresh-off-tutorial islander. I mined essence for 30gp each with my cruddy steel pick axe. Took ages, but when I got to the mining guild, business flourished. I could create full mithril armor, I could buy full Guthix rune...I was on top of the world for a player who'd never dared to pay Jagex. But maybe that's why I am where I am. Ah well, rest easy Rpg Gamer1. Rest easy.

Jagex still don't delete accounts, just try recovering it if you can be bothered.

F2P accounts don't show on the hiscores, so that's why it can't be searched for on the hiscores. Checking the official RS forums, your account can be found there (with 1 post).

If it can't be logged into, that's because the password isn't right.

Uh...huh. Well then Somewhere down the road my password must have been botched then. Likely when they demanded I change it when they deemed it "too easy to guess". I never registered it to an email account, nor did I ever post on the forums (I was never a member, never was allowed to). I suppose I could somehow coerce Jagex to letting me log in again, but perhaps it's best I never touch Runescape again. Do something else with my life.

While it may seem hard letting go of something you put many hours into, perhaps it's for the better. Create a new account, try the new tutorial system, you might enjoy it!

There's nothing worth returning to now.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

It's better to leave in that case, in my view. If I lost my account, there's no way in hell I would even contemplate working my way back to what I have now. It's inconceivable.

If you remember the original password, getting your account back should be easy, especially if you can remember what isp you had the last time you logged in. I got my first account back with just that information.
