Beginning Nex and Fast Charms.

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm just looking to start Nex and wondering if theres any guides around and what kind of gear/supplies I'll need. I've done every boss besides Nex and really want to get into it. Also curious if finding a team will be possible with my stats.

Stats: 99/99/95 Melees, 89 Ranged, 94 Magic, 95 Prayer (With Curses), 87 Summoning (Will be 88 soon) and 75 Herblore (Working on getting extremes but may still be a little).

Also wondering how I can gather fast charms, I normally would Slay for them however I'm 270k from 88 Summoning so would really just like to get them as fast as possible.

Any advice is appreciated, Thanks!

If you don't have 99 in everything relevant to combat and enough cash for full Torva and twin Drygores, forget about Nex.

I don't think you have nexed with teams if you expect that to be the standard, stop being so elitist.

Void is perfect for Nex and also has a higher damage output, tanks should prevent you from taking too much damage.

You could get onto some teams with war tort+unicorn with royal xbow/maul and void. Main thing holding you back here is the lack of overloads and potentially not 90+ range.

#1 Elitist [bleep] attitude.

You can ignore this derphead.

The lack of extremes/ovls might be a problem, you'll have to find someone to take you with that knowledge, as people will be like "omfg no overloads ur so bad, [bleep] off" like a certain someone...

As long as you have void and chaotic maul, you should be able to find a team. The alternative to void with drygore is void & cmaul + royal cbow.

Don't know why you /need/ torva.. it get's out dps'd by void all day everyday. Torva is only needed for Nex soloing.

For fast charms you can try waterfiends (ranged) or dagannoths in the first room at Waterbirth, with the upgraded Balmung.

@MotherBrain: 99 combats aren't so useful at all, the things that matter are equipment, abilities, turm/ovl, bunyip+tacklebox/uni/yak/titan and skill. The difference between 80 and 99 strength on drygores is not quite 2% dps, and even less on mauls.

Based on that would would be the bare minimum for stats and gear?

I'd assume someone with stats like mine would be okay?

If you bothered to read, you would see the OP's stats and the comments on those below it, from there you can see that your stats are fine.

I did read I was leaning more towards here is another example of stats, but what would be the bare bones minimum.

I was thinking more in terms of being able to help out my clan members in terms of who could come with and learn.

What I would consider the minimum is tier 80 weapons (royal & maul) with void. Tanks need much better defensive gear, so arcane + gano for cheap & only requiring level 75 def (arc is only 30m now, that's comparable to GWD top+legs).

Then you want all your useful dps abilities, like assault, rapid fire etc. but those are all unlocked by having 80 att/range and a few strength levels. Similarly, all tank abilities are unlocked by the time you're 75 def anyway.

You want dps boosting prayers and potions, so ideally ovl/turm, but piety/rigour and supers would work. I'd still recommend extremes though.

Finally, to carry some more supplies, a war tortoise.

Now I'm not saying you'll get fast kills or high gp/h, but it *should* be doable with enough people. This is obviously not a duo-based set of requirements, bring a bunch of friends.

Fantastic thank you.

EDIT:

Is there any current guides that go with this setup, most of youtube is mage + maul.

You'll get laughed out of most teams without drygores, overloads, turm etc.

That said, it's perfectly possible to 4-6 man it in void and a royal crossbow, and still get half decent gp/hr. Also, killing Nex is pretty decent blues and crims. So if you can get a team that's OK with using cheaper equipment, it should be NP.

Just follow what other people are doing on each phase until you get the hang of it. The one big thing to know is to use berserk and a maul if you don't have drygores on the blood phase, not doing so usually gets you kicked. Good luck I guess.
