Is there any way to get the game to run under windows 98?

 

Installing java5, RS says the java isn't installed.. Does the game no longer support java5?

Wow Windows 98 D: The memories! I doubt it is supported to be fair. Best bet is to post on the Tech Support section of the RSOF, get a JMod to answer your query.

According to Wikipedia, the latest version of Java that works on 98 is Java 6 Update 7. You could try installing that if you can find it on a trusted site.

 

Other than that, you're probably out of luck.

Do you already have this? If so, I don't really know what to suggest buddy. If not, give it a try and let me know.

Uninstall windows 98. Install a light weight version of Ubuntu/Mint.

Or if you know your way around linux, slackware.

Get java on it.

Then play runescape.

 

Though you'll probably lagg like holy balls.

So another suggestion.

The minimum required java is 6 update 10. Windows 98 isn't supported anymore, according to this update from last year.
