Celtic Knot

Until now I've been brute-forcing celtic knot puzzles on elites, but I've been wondering if there is a strategy for it, kind of like the row strategy and the 4-square wheel for box puzzles.

Any tricks for Celtic Knots?

Note: if posting a video, please also explain in text what the trick is that the video-maker makes use of in solving the puzzle, and how it works. I may not always be able to view it directly.

Uh, of course watch the different ribbons and see which runes occur on both, it's also relatively easy to see which are directly opposite to eachother so you can anticipate what will happen if you turn the ribbon around. Most you can do is doing the puzzle part in your head I think, there's no real 'trick'.

I try focusing on two of the paths, if those two paths don't match up at every point where they meet then I keep trying a new combination. Once I figure out what ones work, then it's just a matter of pressing the last one until it fits together making all of them green. :P Other than that I don't really have a strategy as I find it a bit harder to figure out which ones go where when you use them. I do however look at the two i'm trying to match and see what of the runes appear most often as those are the easiest to figure out if they work or not.

I was kind of wondering if it would be worthwhile to count spaces between runes or something, brute-forcing just seems inelegant.

So far I know that if there are four of the same rune in one track, it's always a red herring, and the best way to do them is to line 2 tracks up and cycle the 3rd until everything is aligned.

When you manage to line up two tracks together, it doesn't always mean that the third one will work with that.

Earlier, I was doing a Celtic knot and managed to line up the red track and the white track. Then I saw the red track ended up placing a mud rune over the blue track, and the blue track did have a mud rune.

I moved it so that the mud runes were on the same position, but the rest of the blue track didn't match up; It was also the only mud rune on the blue track.

tl;dr Red track matched with the White track, but it didn't allow me to finish the puzzle :|

And when that happens, you tank the invisible "trololol" scrolling across the screen and try another red/grey combo.

It would be nice if there were a way to look at the knot and within 20 seconds narrow it down to 3-4 combinations.

they used to be brutal for me, until I figured out a way to phus-brute force it.

1. Pick two bands. I usually just pick whichever two have the buttons closest to gether

2. you are going to try to match those two. Now, pick a spot. One band is going to be your main, the other is going to be your secondary. I like to have the secondary one have the rune ABOVE it, and the main one has the rune go below it.

3. Lets say that the secondary rune is a law rune. Now look on the primary band, does it have a law rune? If it does, put it under the law rune on the secondary band.

4.If all of the intersections of the primary/secondary turn green, hit the third band until everything turns green.

5. If it does not, hit the secondary band ONCE, in ONE direction. ONLY press it in this one direction.

6.Match up primary and secondary again. If the secondary has a soul, and the primary band has three souls, move the primary until you can test each of the souls. If it does not have any souls, go back to step 5
