It's the same style, similar twists to the original but its just not as good - everything is served up on a plate as though the creators think you are too thick to work it out yourself. The whole delving into why John was doing what he did was pretty interesting, as were the "traps", but, I'll agree the twist was to twist-y and was, as Anesthesia said served up to you on a plate rather than being given to you bit-by-bit..
