Biabf
!!My Mouse Is A Laser Mouse!! This has been a problem for a while but not as serious as it is now. What happens is: Every now and then my mouse starts moving around fast in random directions on my screen. This is what I think is cauisn git, but of course I am not sure: 1. The polish on my desk may reflect the laser thing under my mouse making it go crazy. It did get worse as I got a pine desk rather than a chpboard one. 2. The grains on the wood have bumps and one even has a small dent (sp?) in thwe wood. The laser may have problems with this. Can anyone confirm the cause of this? Anesthesia
I have had a problem with my RF wireless mouse where it will shoot up to the one of the corners of my desktop at random intervals. It happens when I'm at home but not when I'm at uni, and I've still not found out what it is - I've tried changing the channel of the receiver. It's not the desk either as I've tried it on a load of different surfaces. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

adthegreat-
Yeah, it happens to my sister's computer, I told her to get a Mouse mat and that has kind of works, but it still kind of goes mad and ends up in one of the top corners, all me and my dad was did update all drivers etc, google it, and somewhere along the line it got a bit better, but unfortunately theres no way of knowing what actually fixed it . :x
Biabf
Ahhhh.. Not just me... The mousemat doesn't help at all btw.
Mr_Putter
I have an entirely dill mouse-pad, and mine still shoots up and spins you around during FPS a lot...Really screws you up, but I can live with it. It only happens once a day tops. Also, occassionally when I leave my comp idle on the desktop for a few minutes sometimes, the laser mouse completely shuts off, and I have to restart. That annoys me a lot more.

Anesthesia
That sounds plausible, but it wouldn't explain why it happens to me in my house at home but NOT in my house at uni... Dyronamics
Laser mice are for those too lazy to clean out their mice balls.... Mines a ball mouse and is just as smooth as a (working) laser mouse, with the added benefit that it works on anything except thick carpet and requires no special surfaces.... On the problem though, I don't have a clue, laser mice have no moving parts and so either the input (lens/surface) or software is stuffed. Software is unlikely so clean the lens if you can and use a proper mouse mat for laser mice.
