GRunyon
If your worried about someone hacking your account via password recovery, fear not! I, the owner of my level 103, cannot even recover my own account! I have agreement numbers, first password, 6 previous passwords, recovery questions, friends list people, intimate details about the account, IP adresses of everywere I have played, age of the account, Zip codes, email adresses, etc and they STILL refuse to give it to me. Like, what the hell. This is sereously pissing me off. My password just stopped working. I dont remember changing it, and ive checked every day for the past three days in highscores and no experience gains have occured. Anyone have any tips on what information is the best to give them? What works, what dosent? UPDATE 2-15: By now, they've got me on auto decline. I can submit a report, type in a code and BAM check on it right away and its declined. Jagex pisses me off sometimes... Palm_Crazy
Well I can understand why Jagex would be very cautious in relinquishing accounts. With all that information (given it's true) I must say I'd be be surprised if they didn't accept your claim, but you never know what to expect. Good luck. GRunyon
DECLINED. Its funny, every time I submit a request I send the same information but get declined for something different. Theyre really starting to piss me off, I wish I had their phone number.
oddfaery2
Sounds strange... When I had to recover my password I couldn't even answer all 5 of the recovery questions, and I didn't have any problems with it. The one I couldn't answer was a title of a book that was 300 miles away from me... *picks questions he doesn't know the answer to, and would have to look up, that way I can't accidentally spill the beans* Proud to have gotten 1800 skill total before access to fishing guild Why make a house when you can rob one? Bubsa
I guess this is why they were trying to recruit Craven Image for their customer support :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
PuRe_MoNk_89
well back in rsc, i stopped playing on my name for a long time, came back and i couldnt remember anything because i had set [developmentally delayed]ed recoverys, and forgot the pass, all i knew was my world pay number because I had it saved in my email, provided jagex with that and got my account back. so im guessing all you really need is the world pay number. maxed out melee back in 06, when it was still considered an accomplishment. same with getting 85 slayer, was in the top 2k players to get it. GRunyon
They probably gave back your account because nobody had signed into it for a good time. Then, all of the sudden someone with a small piece of information about the account claims it as theirs, and Jagex goes "What the hell...". Im going to try to look up some of my old membership information and see what they have to say about that. UPDATE: By now, they've got me on auto decline. I can submit a report, type in a code and BAM check on it right away and its declined. Jagex pisses me off sometimes...
CelticQueen
That sucks! I just looked on their corporate site, but there's no phone number listed on their you can ring either, just an email address :( . It seems they are happy enough to take our money, but when it comes to helping out customers they don't want to know :(

Unitedite
Threaten legal action because the inadaquacy of their customer service provision is tantamount to them defrauding you of any money paid for membership. Doubt you'd ever get lucky in court with it but that's irrelevant. Or, if you can't get thru, ask a mate to do it for you. In my (admittedly limited) experience the customer service dept is completely out of it's depth with things like this, and being as it could have serious implications for them they have to pay you attention. If you're not a member, try getting a mate to put a bug report in saying that the recovery system isn't working effectively because you have an appropriate amount of information but can't recover your account Hope that someone notices and offers to help (but it's doubtful i guess) Get someone to make a thread on the RS suggestions forum suggesting they improve the recovery system, explaining your problem. Get them to post a rant in the rants forum too. Hope someone notices. mario_sunny
They never give accounts back. They seriously suck. not exactly... when a hacker changed my pass *when I didn't have firewall*, I was freeking out. It was very simple: I typed in all the information I knew, and WHAM! Your account is back! :D Lost nothing! Ty bank pin! oh btw I logged off in lumby chicken farm and I was in fally bank when I logged back in with my new pass By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Get them to post a rant in the rants forum too. Hope someone notices. 1) You don't need to actually go to court, sometimes filing a complaint with a consumer commission or just going through the startup motions is enough. 2) *Never ever* threaten to sue. 99.99% of people who threaten don't, and companies know this; you'll lose all credibility. If you want to initiate legal action, just do it. Contact a lawyer or legal representative and have *them* contact Jagex on your behalf. I advise using the angle of "membership payments lost" combined with "insufficient customer support" and "no feedback". The BBC has a consumer complaint division that will cover Jagex nicely, as they're both UK. There are some other UK organisations as well that accept business complaints.
