Hi people, having trouble on rag and bone man, been killing ogres for an hour now and no ribs?

been killing ogres west of yanille ans south of feldip hills,

It says that the ogres only drop the bones while you are doing the miniquest after the quest. So you need to have the main quest finished and currently be working on the "wish list" miniquest that follows. Just to clarify, is that what you're attempting to do? Once the quest is finished you can't collect them anymore. You do appear to be in the right spot though, from what I can find.

 

If you're trying to collect ribs for the main quest, you actually need bear ribs, which are dropped from bears south of Varrock, above Varrock Sewers, or north of Falador, just in case that's the issue. :)

yes I've been doing the wish list and got most of the bones it's just the ogre ribs that I can't get,

Hmm, I don't see any other red flags. They're supposed to be a common drop too :(. My only other advice would be to keep at it and hopefully you'll get it soon!

It must be painful to kill all these ogres, all they drop are crappy seeds.

 

I'm afraid the only thing you can do is keep on trying.

 

Also keep in mind that how common or rare a drop is is just a guess. You can easily get 5 dragon platelegs from steel dragons in a row if you're lucky enough.

 

The drops are completely random. If you don't get it after over 100,000 kills you have just an incredibly awful luck and that's all that's to it.

 

There is nothing that can be done to get the drop faster I'm afraid.

I am just going to put this here because it happened to me...

 

Have you:

 

Checked your bank incase you already have it?

Checked the wish list and made sure you are going for the right one?

 

Make sure you use the search function in your bank to look for it. It can be hard to spot.

 

If not, you have horrid luck!

Be sure to check your bank and your quest log to see if you didn't already get it in the past

Hopping worlds has no effect on rare drops. At all.

Check your bank for ogre ribs and that you don't already have them.

Check your bank for ogre ribs in a pot of vinegar.

Check the wish list at the man's house to make sure it's still there.
