1. Was the disk of returning used to get out of the black hole so you could talk to mates in there, or was it used because people wanted to just go in there for fun; as I quote here:

yes, you payed to go down there and it was just your rs person surrounded in black. that was it, unless more than just you were down there then if i remember right, the people were standing on only one square so hard to see the diffrent people if that makes any sense

I thought it was just a fun thing they put into the game for the hell of it. I went in it a few times, wish I'd kept the disks...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If that quote is real though, "deliberatly misbehaving" could mean abusing bugs to walk into black spaces like you used to see when upstairs in buildings. There were a few bugs where you could do that, although I'm not sure how. Maybe they made the black hole experience to give people an alternative, I have no idea.

Actually, it was removed much before RS2. It was removed in 2001, because people were deliberately breaking rules to get put in the black hole.

Info:

 

 

 

There was once a black hole where rule breakers were put, they could never get out. But if players who hadn't broken the rules wanted to visit the black hole, they could purchase a disk of returning from the shop outside of the blackhole of 10gp. To get out of the black hole, there was previously a right click option on the disk "spin disk."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reason for being rare:

 

 

 

They black hole is now took out of the game and the shop where you could buy disks of returning is no longer there.

I beleive that the black hole was removed june of 2001. It was removed just before I joined.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for #3 I think.

 

 

 

Torstol was made availabe when the agility dungeon came out. Which also seems to be the time that Agility came out as well 0.o That is december 12th. Man... I had fun with salarian when I got high enough.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Snap dragon was made available on july 27 when the brimhaven dungeon came out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh.. Your question is about unidentified.... I'm sorry. I had 2 hours of sleep. Torstol always was unidentified in the chest. Snapdragon when farming came out and people started making it themself.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for Pinapples, I know this for sure :P

 

 

 

Jungle potion came out and opened up the whole new area on karamja. You could find pineapples in the same place you can now. You picked them, and if you used a knife on them, they automaticly cut into 4 slices. When the Agility came out and the grand tree was made(same time), the pinapples got changed to the "new" ones. Whena knife was used on them, you could slice them or dice them.

 

 

 

Now, you could pick or buy only the new ones. The old ones just sat in peoples banks. Finally, people realized that they were now a new rare and started to sell them. I believe they were getting close to 10k each.

 

 

 

Jagex didnt like that of course, so they release the observatory quest with a hidden update. Ogres now drop the "old" pinapples.

Wait, before I do, I'm still bored, so I will tell you something about pinapples that you most likely did not know.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shilo village comes out. Gem rocks are the collest things ever. I mean come on, 50 exp per hit, and you get it almost every time! Insane. The only problem with it was that it was during fatigue before the sleeping bags. You would have to go to the inn to rest...

 

 

 

Someone realized the first day that you could mine the rocks at 99% fatigue, and cake and pineapple sales jumped way up. If you had an inventory of 22 pineapples and a pickaxe, you could sit there forever. Mine untill you were tired. Cut the new gems and drop them cause they are worthless.... Then slice 1 pinapple. Eat the slice, mine again, eat another slice and repeat.

 

 

 

I got almost 5 levels mining in shilo like that, and a huge load of gems.

Yep.. Jagex got sick of asking people to have them banned so they could go to the black hole... Nothing was down there but a black screen, You could not see anyone :wink:
