In the last 2 days I've spent well over 1 million cash on bolt racks for my Karil's Crossbow in my attempts to be the lowest level ever to obtain the sought-out for Fire Cape. My first three attempts, were only warm-ups, tonight I knew it was for real, I felt the vibe, I knew I was going to make it far. As you can see in the picture I am a high level mage and ranger, I was a pure until I made enough money to comfortably have full guthans, full veracs, full ahrims, a whip, cash left over, plus my rares which are still currently rising. I am 85 combat with 77 hp. I killed this last level 360, he is orange which indicates hes the last one. I was out of pray potions almost immeadietly after I killed him. I knew I would die and the boss 1 hit me for a 65. I know it will come soon, but its 4 A.M. here in Ontario and unless I wanted to stay up until 6 A.M. (which I don't) then I'll have to wait another day. This is the most fun I've had in runescape that hasnt involved pking or staking. I cannot wait until I have MY fire cape. Kept my x-bow, d-hide legs and body 1 range pot 1 super defence, 6 sharks and 19 prayer pots, had I brought 1 less shark and 1 more pray pot, I may have completed it. High range is a must. You NEED guthans for this trust me. Its impossible without guthans and 80 range. I do not believe for one second anyone lower than 85 has a cape. You do not have room for any food, i was idiotic to bring 6 sharks because I still had 2 left over at the end, which could of been prayer potions. I do not believe anyone who tells me they've seen 83's or 74's without guthans(LOL) have a fire cape, I always look for fire capes and tell the person with it on "great job" and if you have a cape (especially at a low level) I gaurentee he would wear it everywhere. tommy69801 Posted March 4, 2006 Share Posted March 4, 2006 YOU DO NOT NEED GUTHANS (sorry for caps guys but this guy seem's a little slow) At your level guthans is a waste of inventory space, also taking prayer pots and sharks is'nt the best route either.... (no i dont have a fire cape, but i have been close and messed up prayer switching a few times) That was my set up. Blue pots: Ranged Yellow pots: Sara Brews Red pots: Super restores If you find you need more of one type of pot next time take more and replace one that you do not need as much of. I'm not going to explain the reason for the pots i'm sure you can work that much out by yourself. Your set-up does not have to be identical to mine, but go for best defence pray bonus and range bonus you can get, replace with initiate or whatever suits your price range. The best set-up i am aware of is like mine except with dhide chaps, veracs helm and fury. When I tried for legends cape, noone thought it would happen because I was 64 at the time. After multiple tries, and a bit of luck, I finally got it. And then someone even lower then that got it. When I tried for legends cape, noone thought it would happen because I was 64 at the time. After multiple tries, and a bit of luck, I finally got it. And then someone even lower then that got it.
