A "pixel sig" is just a collection of coloured dots drawn in a program such as MS Paint. There is no magical program that takes a pictures and makes it into a pixel sig.

thanks guys~

hey~

i can't find mcpaint on my comp anywhere(i feel really stupid right now). Is it hiding somewhere?

It's called MS Paint, not mcpaint. It can normally be found in Start -> Programs -> Accessories or Start -> Run -> mspaint -> OK.

If you can't find it using either way then you will need to install it from the Windows Components section of Add/Remove Programs.

well i found one that is called "paint". Just "paint". Its under start>programs>accsesories>Is it the same thing?

Thanks

Yes it is the same thing. It's a program called Paint created by MicroSoft, hence "MS Paint".

lol Sorry. Should have given rocketman089 and Mercifull some credit.

Thanks eveyone who helped me!

Yeah, terleys tut is great, but to sum it up, really basicly....

pencil drawing>linework>basic coloring(dump some colors in the lines)>shade it(zoom in and draw a darker color inside the linework, getting progreesivly lighter as you go inward) And thats the very basics for starters

  • Author

Ya thanks, That tutorial helped alot! one question though? If I scan a picture onto my comp then trace the lines how do i remove the picture that i scanned on there so that only the pixel copy is showing?

  • Author

I no im not going to post it i was just trying to see if i could do it. Anyone no how?

If you were going to scan and trace you would have to use a different program, other than MS Paint. Use a program that uses layers, like Jasc Paint Shops Pro, or Photoshop.

If you don't know what layers are, or don't have one of those programs, don't even bother scanning and tracing, unless you are an AMAZING artist, and really good with images on a computer too. Those are expensive programs ;)
