Just pull up the sheet at the end of the bed backwards up towards the front and flip it over and tuck it in. When the person gets under their covers, they find that they can only get half in. Charging up an old cell phone and setting the alarm to go off the next day on april fool's day, while hiding it in an unreachable or hard to find spot like heat vents in a family member's room. Another is to tell a family member that they got a phone call while they were out, give them the number to their local zoo, and have them ask for (from some site the names were given) " Buffy Lowe, Ellie Font, Jay Raffe, Ty Gere, Bab Heun and the old standby, Anna Conda."
