Alright I was walking through desert past the granite rocks and a lvl 65 p-mod said my name, then said "Username confusing" , I suspect he reported me? My name on Rs is K----L, I really didn't think that was confusing. I didn't mean it to be. Also I have a flawless record on Runescape. Do you think I will be banned for having a confusing name? I've put alot of time and effort into my account. I will go berserk!

It's just like the 0o0o0o0 names, they can't tell if you've been scamming or what ever because your name is hard to report

Well, that is a point, but you can't report some one for offensive language and stuff like that unless the character has spoke. So if they get it wrong they could try it again, but again I think it's unfair there are limited possibilities for names and I wanted k-l but it was taken k--l and so on.

I shouldn't have to pay 5 dollars to keep my items safe on a game because my name was undeliberately confusing. If my guy gets banned thats it for me and rs.

It's my only account. Just because you have way more than 3m xp, doesn't mean that 3m xp doesn't take time and effort to get. Countless hours getting the skills I have right now. Not as much as you've spent , but that doesnt' mean mine doesnt count for anything.

I woudlnt worry bout it, and to you who saying he should be banned. How would you feel if your name should be banned because of something so small. Give him a break.

 

 

 

I'd say don't worry bout it, and if indeed you are banned, then apeal if it don't work, well you had fun while it lasted correct ?

If your account was created before they introduced that rule (not quite sure when), then I doubt you will get banned.

Like I said in the other post about this, I dont think spaces are as big a problem as the 0o0o0o0. It's alot easier to report someone with spaces in their name than it is to report someone with a string of 0s and os. You can easily send another report with another space in there, but its alot harder to try and get the correct 0o combo. I had to try reporting someone named O0(some name)0o like 5 times for offensive language before I got it right.

dont worry, many people have said they had reported me, and i was even banned for PASSWORD SCAMMING (i have no clue how the heck that happened) but i ban appealed and was able to get my account back.

 

 

 

this is my only account too, and i put a lot of effort into making it what it is now. im still fearful ill get banned, but remember one thing: you cant be banned for something you didnt do. the people that wer banned for "Nothing" probably did something bad before and karma played a role. youll be fine, trust me.

Here's what I would do: Send in a query to Jagex and ask them to change your name to somthing else, and state what you want it changed to, and also apologise and tell them that you didn't deliberatly make your name confusing. Do this quickly, because if they ban you first they won't listen to you in the ban appeal; they'll just think you're a scammer trying to get his account back. If they ban you anyway, well, then that only shows that the members of Jagex staff are disgruntled old suits who don't care about their customers enough to be even that lenient, and that they would have banned you eventually anway. Better to find out quickly then waste any more time playing.

eh its fine.. they are spaces so it wont take long to guess. but people with numbers thats much harder to remember. If you get banned for having 4 spaces then people with 4 numbers + should be banned as well :lol:

 

Don't worry about it, however if you get banned just start again with a better name and it shouldn't take you to long to get 3 mil xp as you will know what to do from the start.

On topic, you won't get banned for having lots of spaces in your name.

 

 

 

Initially, Jagex allowed people to register usernames with lots of spaces. This was a problem because I_Scam_Ppl and I___Scam_Ppl showed up exactly the same on the screen, so it was nearly impossible to know who to look up or report.

 

 

 

Then, Jagex changed the registration process so you no longer were able to register accounts with lots of spaces. The old account names were still confusing.

 

 

 

Finally, Jagex made the spaces show up in game, so you could tell if someone had one or four spaces in their name. They also allowed people to register names with lots of spaces again.

 

 

 

The fact that Jagex opened the registrations for usernames with multiple spaces shows that they no longer think that such names are confusing, so you won't get banned for it.

No they didn't they fixed it by adding lines through the zeros.
