what is the language? do you have a link?

you'll notice that half elf actually is an option, in fact my character is a half elf. It is just extremely rare because of the distain that elves have ofr humans. Humans usually get along better with dwarves, but cannot breed with them.

Sure they can...its just very...very...very hard and requires a bit of magic. I know because my character is half dwarf and half human.

The Othersphere is like a portal to a different dimension; an intentional and controllable portal. As if the fabric of reality got a hole poked in it
Right but portals can's swallow themselves

It affects this reality as a constant; it doesn't matter if it actually is here. It can be in the other dimension and the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhole̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ will still be there.

It's a fairly difficult concept.

I see, its a one way sort of thing, one closes as the other opens, meaning that people could only escape it while it was bing stolen. Which is sort of what I said.

Aquenandi need not be used often; merely a couple of greetings and honorifics, such as 'Esta̢̮â¬Â¦Ãâáve' which is a sarcastic honorific.
As long as I don't look like an idoit trying to spell it I don't mind, just for particular times though.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

its a great item for most rpg's (basically a bag of holding), except for the fact that this is a low magic world. I'll think on it though you better have a VERY good backstory as to how your character got it and its complete history. Do you have MSN? maybe we could talk it over on there. There will be a problem with the fact that it uses extra demensions, because taking it through another portal would be VERY bad. (big kaboom, section of material plane calpsing in on its self and falling into the astral pland destroying everything in a multiple mile radius and over all not being very nice)

That demensional/planar stuff is all based on D&D as this is an extension of the planescape multi-verse, if highly modified.

As for the language, who would use it?

well of course, with magic anything is possible, but I still don't like how this is getting further and further away from low magic as we continue. I'm considering making a "no magic at all" rule for characters (the half-dwarf would still work though, but you would have to modify the god a little bit)

Pm me if you need anything proof-read, I may not be very good, but I am always willing to help.

We are getting more magical but most of the magic stems from the arefacts not from the actual character. Also the Othersphere is not another dimension, it is a depression in space with a very narrow entery point...which can be expanded or contracted. To have an RPG such as this we need a little magic, we are using artefacts to simulate how we are different from the other wand wielding RPGs.

TO OTHERS

This is a realm of low magic, we do not have great luck with spells, therefore you need arefacts, therefore to prevent cheating we require a full list of your artefacts. You may not have a 'Energy firing' Artefact, type of thing. Try to make your artefact uniquie to you. You may have many arefacts but they must not be of the type that forms a super high firepower weapon/doomsday device/turns the realm into a earthlike world.

To be very clear magic is not to be used unless it is for...Cooking or other minor tasks, or if you are going to die you may use magic* to save yourself, this magic must not be 'kill everyone in room' it must be a 'the waves rose up around the little house, the captors panic and you escape, them not realising that it was an illusion'.

*To make sure of this you will be allowed to cast 5(low level) spells before having to recharge your energy, to recharge your energy you must travel to a Magi. You all will carry(at somepoint) an artefact to teleport you to him, but the recharge cycle will mean that you are unable to use magic for a day(not posting is an option, but do within reason because of the following) you must also slowly make your way back to where you were, you may not teleport. You dont have to recharge though, you can live on 1 charge and if everyone is abiding by the rule a artefact may allow you to recharge after 10 spells.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

good idea, this artifact thing makes sense, but I got some questions

1.When does it start?

2.Is this gonna have a basic storyline that we all have to go by or are we just doing whatever we please?

1.The story starts when we have a few people...very shortly

2.We have a storyline, a really good storyline, in fact its so good it hasn't been written yet!!

We do have a plan, its not a great plan and its certainly not a storyline but we do have a few points. If you want just make it up.

Believe me, I do have a backstory.

Is this backstory going to be the type that is a story unto itself?

I do have MSN, but I never log in.

Thats a bit useless then isn't it. maybe if we planed it or something.

If anyone else want to do part of their story its fine.

Please follow the following guidelines/rules though.

1.The world must not blow up

2.Other characters must not blow up

3.Artefacts(unless it is their power) must not blow up

4.Nothing may blow up

5.Do not talk to other characters or kill them

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Do not talk to other characters?

Anyways, the backstory is kind-of a story unto itself. A lot has happened with Rilha on her own, but it hasn't been completed yet. >.>

<.<

So it will undoubtedly play into the RPG sooner or later.

everyone write your intro, but leave it open ended, It would be nice if everyone started out in the dwarven capital, though human nations work also (read as "Prut works"). Starting in the undersea kingdoms is far too far out of the way, and I would also perfer that noone started in elven lands, but we can figure out a way tomake that work.

either is fine, I have very little on night elves, except that they are pretty reclusive, except when they're raiding dwarven or human ships, they're basically pirates. Sun elves are by far the most magically inclinded race and are the only race that has a college of magic. a single wizard can do very little but taking part in rituals can anhilate dwarven ships.

Xazax slowly pulled the power from the artefact, its energies defusing into the Eonasphere(Where nearly all the magical charge of spells go, explaining why there is so little magic), where it churned with the thick soup of power there. The golden aura of the energy was lost in a violent surge of fire, the power was gone, never to exist again. For many years Xarax had been hunting down artefact after artefact, defusing it's power, causing a magic free world. The quest would never be complete but Xazax never gave in. Only his Cam-Cloak was spared the defusion, thus making the task impossible to ever be done. The magic had(in the same way science has) corrupted the planet, causing problems across the bi-solar system.

Xazax looked distantly into space as the power was removed from existance, then came the task of removing the final traces of power from the arefact. This ment traverlling to the arefact's place of origin, only a mine shaft to get there. Xazax contemplated going there now, a firery energy had been released, so the location would be of lava or magma. This was more dangerous than other artefacts, the sacred scrolls always were destroyed by a golden water wave. Showing that they were sun basiced, meaning natural, and that it came from water, so it must be returned to there. However one of the Scrolls that Xazax had found had shown a green water wave, meaning unnatural. Xazax always feared a green aura, it always meant another artefact, or, although it had never happened, a tear in the Eonasphere.

Xazax entered the magma chamber that he had dug some years before, this island was apparently a Fire energy nexus, a high number of firery [bleep]es confirmed this. So he had dug this tunnel into the mantle then into a pre-existing magma well. Xazax slowly dipped the arefact into the pool, the whisps of energy detached themselves from the melting gold, searching for a new arefact to control. The energies finally came to rest inside the Cam-Cloak, fighing for dominace. The Cam-Cloak was much stronger than the arefact's energies, as it ws whole. The Cam-Cloak absorbed the now submissive energy, crowing about a millimetre. However there was something else there, a small shine, bearly readable to human or much any living thing's eye. The shine slowly brighten though, revealing a map of a kind. Xarax studied the map quickly, the arefact had been energized at the same time as another arefact, in the same place which was rare. There, the arefact, a perfect sphere, a power of incredible magnitude. Only for a moment then it was gone, invisable to even the Cam-Cloak.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

The small human village of Valtar was silent. Everyone had settled in for the night long ago, and only one man was still awake. Without making a noise, the man slipped out of the small shack he occupied. His name was Jenleck, and he wore black robes with a black hood, and he carried a metal staff with a dragon etched into the side and a glowing blue orb attached to the top. Not a sound was made as he ran down the nearest street, getting ready for what he knew was about to happen. Somehow he knew the staff he held would finally meet it's twin again. He could feel it in his bones. After a few minutes the dark figure reached the town square. Hours before this place had been crowded with merchants and shoppers. Now it seemed like a ghost town. Using his staff to lean on, Jenleck stood there and began his wait. It wasn't long before a ship could be seen on the horizon, its sails nearly blocking out what was left of the moon. Several minutes passed before the ship finally landed at the port. Although nothing was heard, the dark figure knew the ship was getting ready for it's attack. Again a few minutes passed until a light was seen on the ship. The light grew along the top of the ship until it looked as if the ship had fire trimming. The man held up his staff and then quickly slammed it into the ground. Light emmited off of the blue orb attached to the top, signaling that its twin was near. A shriek yell was heard and the fire along the top of the ship shot outward, carried on by a hail of arrows. Jenleck just stood there, no sign of remorse on his face, as the arrows hit nearby houses and set them alight. Fire quickly spread until the whole village was like a giant bonfire. Screams echoed through the night as villagers rushed out of their houses with buckets of water, trying to put out the fire that was consuming their homes. Still Jenleck stood there, waiting for his chance to strike back. The clanking sound of metal could be heard as the ship's warriors jumped overboard and drew their weapons. Although the villagers tried their best to defend their village, they were no match for the battle-hardened warriors. Killing villagers as they walked, the warriors soon came upon the town square. The warriors looked upon the man and laughed. They argued among themselves until they had chosen who would get to kill Jenleck. A muscular warrior stepped forward holding an axe bigger than his head and an even bigger shield. At first he waited, seeing if the dark figure would strike first, but he soon got annoyed and charged with all his strength. Right before the warrior struck, Jenleck stepped out to his right and help his staff out. Yelling and screaming echoed through night as the warrior hit his nose against the metal staff. Jenleck quickly countered with a blow to the warriors neck. The warrior got in a few wheezes before he fell dead from suffocation. The rest of the warrior's laughter stopped and the night was quiet once more. Without warning the warriors all charged at once. When they came within reach, Jenleck used his staff to leap over the head of one of the warriors. He then struck his staff into the lower back of the warrior, bringing him to his knees. The rest of the warriors were about to charge again when "Halt!" was heard coming from the direction of the ship. Jenleck turned around to see another man in black robes and a black hood. The only difference this man seemed to have from Jenleck was the fact that his staff had a red orb. Both orbs lit up, emanting a blue and red light that lit up the whole town square. Then the man began to talk.

"It's been a long time eh' Jenleck?"

"Yes it has Valesar, but this time I'm ready to take my revenge."

"You will never kill me Jenleck. I am much older and more powerful."

"Then I shall die trying."

A smile could be seen on Jenleck's face. Then Valesar also let off a smile. Minutes passed as the two dark figures only looked at their enemy, trying to decide what to do first. Without warning Valesar charged Jenleck with his staff, knocking him to the ground. Valesar then finished up with a blow to the chest. Jenleck was wheezing for air. At the same time he was trying to figure his way out of this predicament. Then Valesar's face changed into one of surprise. Valesar fell to the ground clutching his side and letting out a scream of pain. A man was seen where Valesar had been only seconds before. The man wielded a hatchet and a small knife. Valesar soon got up, his wound still gushing blood.

"Warriors, kill them both!"

Jenleck got up and held his staff high above his head. Then he slammed the bottom into the ground and smoke shot out in every direction.

Since the two knew the layout of the village, they had no troubles getting out. They kept running until they came to the forest just outside of town. The man looked at Jenleck as if he wanted to know what had just happened. Jenleck looked back and said "not tonight."

Ok Im in on this. And with a definitely different character.

Name: Seref Mano (Sare-If) (May-Know)

Birth Place: Underneath the full moon

Race: Pure Blood Night Elf

Age: Nearing 200

Appearance: Dark skin and dark hair. Deep blue eyes that glow white at night. His skin losses its darkness during day. He wears a long flowing cloak.

Backstory: Not much is known of the Night Elf race. That is due to their dwindling numbers. With only 70 known living night elves a sighting of one has become a rarity. They tend to remain out of sight and usually only come out during the night.

Seref is the most recent born night elf and is the youngest of his kind. For reasons unknown his kind had been slowly dieing off.

Seref grew up hating weakness. Always striving to become the best at whatever he attempted. Deep down he hoped that some day he would use his strength to fix the weakness his race was facing. Seref spent nearly every day of his life training with a bow. He used a small dagger if need be but he found a true passion in his soul for the bow. Due to his desire to be stong he often tended towards more evil than good. He became amazingly adept at theft. Including lockpicking and pickpocketing.

He spent his nights training with his bow and also training the one magic ability that night elves had. The power of levitation. It was a slow painful process which had nearly taken him all his life. At first only being able to lift a few grains of sand, until these days had gained the ability to lift boulders and move them around. This ability often helped in his theiving.

During his days he would roam the streets in search of a pocket to pick or a chest to rob. Until recently he had been caught. He now is located in a dungeon in a city unknown.

Weapons / magic / armor and other abilities that are revelent: He uses a bow that was crafted and handed down through his family. He carries a small dagger in his boot. His power is strongest at night and moreso during a full moon. During day his skin and hair become lighter relating to his lessened power. His blue eyes glow white when using his levitating ability. He wears an ancient black leather which origins are unknown, they have no special ability. He is adept at theiving.

I thought it was a brillient opening, you even took into account that fact that this is a water world so an advancing army is unlikely. However 2 bad points: 1. you have made everyone human, so far there has been no other races involed and humans only take up a small part of the map.

2. You used 'Without warning' a bit to often.

AfroThundeX

Like the character, nice idea, no artefact so The Dragon will be happy... well the armour doesn't really count because it has no power. Good place to start, mostly its trying to get into a dungeon to save someone, here he's on his own. Liked the backround, creative. 'Pure Blood' I'm guessing this is gonna be really important. Just 1 thing, his eyes glow white when he levitates and when its day...is he only on the ground at night, or is it a different shade of white?

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

He only levitates when he wants to. So thats when his eyes glow. And it isnt only self levitation, he can levitate other things. So he is always on the ground unless he decides to levitate. In the daytime his powers are just lessened, not completely but noticably.

Thanks for the comments.

Afro, I loved the chracter, but his back story does not match at all with my vision of the night elves. They are not exactly dwindling, of the surface elves they have been the least affected by the war. The levitating ability is characteristic of drow so i like it, but limit it to stuff within 3 feet of him, and no more than he can normally carry as a medium load. The fact that his powers lessen during the day could be fairly unknown to him because in the night elf homeland it is eternall night.

you have made everyone human, so far there has been no other races involed and humans only take up a small part of the map.

this isn't a problem if its in the smaller human nations.

Jenova, I still have a problem with that staff. Could you send me a pm with ALL of its properties? I have some ideas that I don't wnt to put down here.

Pm me if you need anything proof-read, I may not be very good, but I am always willing to help.

yes but all the other characters are human, only our(players) characters are not human. I hope this gets better, like going to a dwarf ship, allowing everyone to meet or something like that, even if not everyone meets it would be nice to have 2 join up talk a bit, get some backstory then split up, but keep turning up.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
