April 26, 200620 yr hello i've kinda realized that smithing right now is a somewhat obsolete skill. however, it has always been a desire of mine to get a really high smithing level someday and smith rune. i've always dreamed of it! but since i have the attention span of an ADHD flea and i cant stay training on one skill for long, my smithing level is still 44. if anybody knows a good way to level up smithing quickly, please help me. by the way, i have my mining at 57 and i'm desperately trying to get it up to 60 so i can join the mining guild and start mining coal like a maniac...then i could make all sorts of bars and level up my smithing that way...that was my initial idea. is this a good idea or would it take too much time? if its a good idea, then please tell me a good way to level up mining too. and thank you Acinonyx jubatus - binomial nomenclature for Cheetah!10th grade OVER!!!
April 26, 200620 yr I can't help you level up smithing because I have given up on it because of how slow it is. If your not concerned about making money then you should mine iron and either drop, or trade it away (quicker than dropping) to level mining. Mining iron is faster xp than mining coal.
April 26, 200620 yr Once you hit 58 mining you can actually drink a dwarven stout to get into the mining guild, but you would have to do it for every entry. The best smithable things that sell are iron knives and cannonballs. Iron knives you can buy iron bars (200) and smith knives to break even, or buy the ores, use rings of forging, and smith them which is also money-effecient. Cannonballs sell, but they're slow and are bad exp. Steel plates can sometimes be sold... but not really (no profit there really...). Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well. And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.[hide]YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.- See You, Space Cowboy.[/hide][/hide]

April 26, 200620 yr Many players will tell u that if u give them 100 steel bars they will give you 200 coal, 100 iron, and sometimes cash$$$. Thats a way to raise ur smithing and make some mula$$$. N_odie RIP MichaelangelopolousThanks to cowboy14 for the pimp sig!
April 26, 200620 yr ^I found it a lot better to do what I am doing right now. Start of with about 200 bars (mine or buy your oars doesnt matter) Sell them for 600 gold each (easy in world 3 fally east bank) Now you can either buy more coal or iron (more than you origonaly had) Or you can do what I do which is just buy coal and mine your own iron so you can higher your mining level at the same time. You will multiply your bars by about 1.5x each time. Looking for someone to teach me how to Armadyl farm - pm me10,200th Person to Achieve 99 Magic on 1/10/08
April 26, 200620 yr Once you hit 58 mining you can actually drink a dwarven stout to get into the mining guild, but you would have to do it for every entry. It's actually 59 mining you need. The dwarven stout only raises 1 level max. Even if you take several drinks it only raises by 1. If you have a goal, go for it :D Work hard, be proud and be yourself ;)
May 3, 200620 yr Author well..i've finally gotten into the guild (yay) and i was wondering if either: a.) May 3, 200620 yr OK. People pay THROUGH THE TEETH for smithing experience. It's a phenomenon I simply don't understand. If you're F2P, you're best dollar will be made selling steel bars. Even if you bought the coal (at 200, the markey price; don't let people buy at 150!), and the iron (100), you're still making 100 per bar, easy money. If you mine everything, then obviously you stand to make tons and tons of cash this way. If you decide to go P2P, some money can be made through smithing. Cannonballs and arrows / darts / knives are both slow methods that train your smithing very effectively (although cannonballs give a penalty; 25 exp per steel bar, whereas everything else is in the thirties) and make money. These are can't misses, if you can find a seller. Personally, I've had 25k iron knives sitting in my bank collecting dust for a while. People say they sell well. People LIE!! A moot point if you're F2P. My advice remains in selling bars for cash.
May 3, 200620 yr ...i've kinda realized that smithing right now is a somewhat obsolete skill. Yeah. That's basically true with Dragon and Barrows gear. ...if anybody knows a good way to level up smithing quickly, please help me. Quickest/Expensive: buy bars and smith things at Varrock west anvils. Cheapest: mine your own coal and Iron and then smelt/smith steel. Cosrt effective: mine some ore and buy some bars. ...by the way, i have my mining at 57 and i'm desperately trying to get it up to 60 so i can join the mining guild About 2000 iron ore will do it. Or about 1200 iron ore with a dwarven stout (bought in Fally bar) then i could make all sorts of bars and level up my smithing that way... that was my initial idea. is this a good idea or would it take too much time? It's always gonna take too much time ;) Your way is, perhaps, the most cost effective way of doing it. The only ways to really speed it up is either to have a lot of money or have high mining. With a lot of money you can just buy the bars. With high mining you can sell mith/addy/runite ore/bars and use the cash to buy steel bars. Each Addy bar that I sell gives me about 4 steel bars. Each Runite ore that I mine gives me about 22 steel bars. ... please tell me a good way to level up mining too. Power mine iron. I got to 85 using the 3 iron rocks on the North-West wall of the Al-kharid scorp mine. My technique was whack rock 1, whack rock 2, whack rock 3, spin, drop, drop, drop. By that time the first rock has respawned and I repeat the whole thing. Hope this helps.
