This is a story I wrote in the past. It's not related to Runescape but the last part has a similar theme. I would like to post it here to share with you all. Hope you like it. Thanks. :)

When marimba rhythms start to play

Light breeze drifted through a little patch of trees. Morning sunshine splattered through the evergreen leaves and branches, falling onto a cluster of viburnum that was growing under the tree. A little bell shaped flower dangled in the winds, nodding from the tip of a hollow scape that stands just about the threadlike leaves. It had six snow-white petals, each with a small emerald green spot near its tip.

 

 

 

 

 

A young man walked into the forest, enjoying the early morning freshness of the air. His eyes lighted up when he spotted the little flower. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅAwww, a little snowflake. HavenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t you opened a little early this year? See your friends are still not here yet.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

A gust of wind swirled around with scattered snow-white flower petals. A dimly lighted phrase showed up in the middle of the snowflake background: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅSorry, you lost.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Fly me to the moon

 

Let me sing among those stars

 

Let me see what spring is like

 

On Jupiter and Mars

It had been seven days now since she ran out of the Hive after him. She still remembered their brief conversation before he left.

The dark outlines of the forest and the hills were strangely tall and precipitous. The night was unnaturally silent, as if all noises were muffled by the darkness. Somebody was watching her. Myia turned her head around, and was startled by two shining green eyes. She sat up abruptly, grabbing the jade ring that was hanging in front of her chest subconsciously, and scooted back. A soft milk-white glow from the ring leaked through her fingers.

 

 

 

It looked like a man. She could not tell how old he was. Most of his face was hidden in the dark, except for the two glittering green eyes. His ears seemed a little pointy, indicating that he may not be entirely human. She opened her mouth to ask who he was, but her words were frozen before the manÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s cold and silent stare.

 

 

 

He stood up, and disappeared into the darkness. Myia let out a breath, while surprised how tall he appeared to be. All the noises of the night suddenly came back. She could hear the cry of an owl not far from her. And the pains ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ She almost mourned to the sharp pain in her left leg when he came back with a bowl.

 

 

 

Seeing that she didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t intend to take the bowl from him, the man sighed, and explained: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅYou fell from the cliff and broke your leg. YouÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been unconscious for two days.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Thanks guys. I've written a dozen pieces and this is the one I like the most myself. I've put my heart into it when I wrote it. I'm glad that you all enjoyed it. :)

An enjoyable read :-). It's quite interesting how you manage to use Gamemaster bit to tie together the stories. I'm pretty sure we learned the term for that kind of literary technique in English but I've forgotten what it was. Canterbury Tales was an example though

Yes, this story was rooted from one of my thoughts, that life is like a game that has no restart. You stumble ahead, and you fail. You wish you could start again but time has flew by. You witness all those you can't change. And you wonder what another game would be like.

 

 

 

"Is life a dream or is it a game? Is there a restart? Does one get another chance?"

 

 

 

What it really matter though, is that you have experienced. And lived.

I'll never look at a tabletop RPG the same way again. Very nice.

It's real, jin. One day you may wake up and realize that you too have been playing a game. And you'll want to play another one, perhaps in a planet that is far away ... ;);)

Jamski flees the Hive!

 

 

 

Former deputy chairman and long time anti-revolutionist Jamski was found to have fled from the Human Hive. Jamski has reportedly left without saying goodbye to anybody. His disappearance was discovered when a janitor found a wide-open door and a disordered floor filled with old classified materials and tapes of Claire Forloni in JamskiÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s private quarters. It is speculated that the former deputy intended to defect to the HiveÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s enemy faction ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ the CPU.

 

 

 

CPC chairman HongHu was reported to have also left the Hive after leaving a note on her desk on the same day. Friends close to her said that she had run after Jamski. Hive authorities was informed that she had briefly been in contact with the PEACE, one friendly faction of the Hive. However, she had never actually arrived to join the good captains.

 

 

 

Eight days later a probe team dispatched by CMC chairman Rubin found an unconscious HongHu in a massive area of xenofungus. There is no speculation on how long she had been in that state. Although she appeared to be unwounded, many say that she seems a little different from before. Nobody knows what had happened in those eight days because Comrade HongHu refused to comment on it. Others believe that a nervestaple therapy session may be in order.
