Jack Johnson

Until about 3 weeks ago I never knew who Jack Johnson was. Sure, I had heard a few songs maybe now or then but never payed attention. Well lately my mum bought the album Jack Johnson and Friends with some music in some movie Curious George. I never listened to it until it was in the computer and put itself on my iPod. Lately I have been listening to it and just think it is amazing the way he does his music.

He just has a unique style to me the way he just floats around. His music really relaxes me and some of it has some pretty neat meanings and stories composed into the songs as you listen.

Just wondering if anyone here is a Jack Johnson fan. I really like him now.

Yeah i really like him myself, although In Between Dreams, not so much. If you haven't already I would strongly suggest that you get Brushfire Fairytales, its really chilled out, but the songs are a bit more memorable IMO.

Yes I think his songs are great. I first heard them from In Between Dreams, I still think that's a great album. I've also listened to his older albums too and think they are quite good too.

Would love to see him in live.

Yea, he's pretty good. I should get some of his albums someday. I play him a lot in our shop and after work I just take him home, throw the cd in my player and just fall asleep (that sounds like his music is really boring, but that's knot what I mean :P )

I like a few of his songs, but I personally think that most of his songs sound exactly like another one of his songs.

He has some good songs, but I wouldn't get his CD. He needs some more variety.

^^Agree'd with everyone above, his style is very relaxing :) Some call it childish but who listens to AC(Lighting bolt thing  )DC before they fall asleep :P .

Off-topic, but has anyone ever been listening to a cd while your in that almost sleep state where you can understand things but your mind is wandering? I find you pick up on way more, especially songs with really good lyrics or a plot in the song (Ex. Coheed and Cambria).

I'm definately a fan, I like his mellow approach to everything, even his concerts (which is good and bad). I loved seeing him live but it was sort of him just sitting there playing his songs, no talking, no audience ineraction, nothing. It was really great though.

I'd say Brushfire Fairytales is his best album, but I'm impressed with In Between Dreams too, either way you can't go wrong. I will say that I'm not diggin' the Jack Johnson and Friends as much as I thought I would, expecially since all of the guests he has like Ben Harper, G. Love, Matt Costa (saw him in concert as well), I listen to regularly as well. Maybe just geared toward a different purpose than why I'd buy a CD.

I play guitar myself and his work is great, I love playing his songs and having a good old sing along as they are so layed back and chilled.

I must agree Brushfire Fairytales is a great great album! :D

I love it. I've learned about 15 songs of his on guitar, and as long as you can palm mute, they're simple to learn!
