It has been going around with some people asking me why do black people love fryed chicken and to tell ya the truth i just don't know.

southerners like fried chicken. I'm a southerner... but I dont... but thats just me. But in general, they do.

 

 

 

Come here to the south, you will see more blacks than most parts of the US.

 

 

 

Why do Chinese like rice? well, thats the main food of China (or was for a long time), and mainly chinese populate china.

Not all of them are true, but many Black people do enjoy there chicken and watermelon.

 

 

 

I had a few friends over (2 out of 3 were black) and one asked me for watermelon :P

but why? I mean the stuff can kill ya if you eat to much yet they eat it a lot. I myself have been thinking it was something to do with back then in the old days but then again a wrong more then 50% of the time.

The movie Undercover Brother ( I think that was the name ) included a plot where the bad guys had a plan to use mind-controlling fried chicken to brainwash black people...

The stereotype comes from the fact that fried chicken is very cheap and available to make, so impoverished families in the South from 1850's to 1950's usually had this if they were able to even eat meat. Kids grew up on it, and they eat it now.

 

 

 

There's nothing really racist about it. And the phenomenon is not limited to only African Americans.

You like what you grow up eating. Many black people lived in the south. Southern cooking involves a lot of frying. There's your answer.

 

 

 

But then again, you can't say that this is true for everyone. You can say "Asian people like rice", but my brother does not (well, not very much). :)
