Jagex made a mistake

Each day, for their efforts, a maximum of 1\10th is removed from the coffers to pay for the labour. (So if you had 5 million in the coffers, each day, 50k would be removed for wages).

I don't think they are. They make.. What millions of dollars for practicly nothing, just updating a game they made a couple years back  And they're doing a pretty good job at it.

I'm not picking on you specifically rm2k_champ, but I've highlighted the mistakes you made in a 5 line post. Jagex manage thousands of lines of code that their customer-base expects to be online 24/7.. On the whole I think they make a pretty good job of it.

No you read it wrong. A maximum of 10% or 50k. at 5m it will remove 50k, but if your at 400k it will remove 40k since it's 1/10th. It's a double maximum which takes the lowest of the two figures and uses it twords the skills.

May I remind you that they are only human.

Humans make mistakes, it happens big deal!

Now the fact that I am just a runescape player and not a company worth millions I think I can afford to make a few mistakes. I don't capitalise for a reason, it's saving me time and some of the updates would benefit with a little going over. Actually i was only pointing out some mistakes and never meant to come across as perfect myself.

Edit - As for knowledge, i just plain thought that knowlage was the spelling...which isn't like me, thanks for that I know how to spell it now.

too or to? When typing on a laptop keyboard I often hit the wrong key or worse, dont hit the key at all. Sorry if i came across as un-intelligent.

umm i think it says earlier that it removes 10% or a maximum of 50k

ahahaha IMA A IDIOT

cant argue there mate
Real world? *looks around confuzzled* Real world?!? :ohnoes:

Are you sure it's JAGeX? I always thought it was just Jagex.

Anyway, examples aren't really needed unless you really are silly. They're explanation is good enough for me. :)

put him in jail

Then i'll just wait for him to drop the e-soap

I take your point regarding being a player rather than a company worth millions, however it's unlikely that each individual developer/tester/QA team member is themselves worth anywhere near that amount and ultimately any errors will come down to the validations implemented. Whether these validations are automatic or manual there will always be a degree of fallibility (think how frequently MS Word gets grammar checks wrong - and there's a company worth billions.)

I didn't think your post came across as un-intelligent, nor was I trying to insinuate that, that was the case. I was merely highlighting how easy it is to make simple typos, particularly when working at speed. Given that there are weekly updates to Runescape most weeks I would imagine that a lot of work there is done at a frantic pace! By the way, regarding the capitalisation of "JAGeX" is it not "jAGeX"?

Back on topic, as it happens it would appear that the error in this case was not that of jAGeX anyway, but rather the original poster mis-reading the terms of running his Kingdom  Still, it triggered some interesting comments....

Mordendravid.png

Actually people, Jagex didn't make a mistake. If you look at the book Ghrim gave you, "Managing Thine Kingdom for Noobes", you'll read that there are limits to what is given away as payment and what the most you can deposite is.

Here's a little graphic picture to show you:
