mining line

Didnt know how else to name this.

This is what would be new about mining and other skills: You can connect the rocks your char will mine. With which I mean: You click the first rock, then you shift cliack the second, thirth, fourth and so on. You char will then begin to mine the first one, second till the last one you shift clicked in the line. This will make mining a bit easier when its not crwoded in for instance the mining guild.

Also it's not botting, because YOU still do the clicking. The difference is only in the moments you click and the moments your char will be mining.

mining is not meant to be an easy stat where you click once and get tons of xp just by watching. you actually have to play the game and click on each individual ore to get it and xp, woah.

liek omg rly?

uuuhm in this idea, you still actually have to play the game and click on each individual ore to get it.

I do like the idea, but it may make people pay less atention to the game and so get in trouble with random events.

you are suggesting autoing. Your character is automatically going to another rock, without clicking it, so technically, you could connect a line, leave your computer and come back. No, this is what mining is, patience and attention.

Can you read?

I say: you click each ore, but make a line. So when u shift click 5 ores, he tries to mine those 5 and stops. It's totally not autoing... It just makes it a littl easier when the whole rock field is not that crowded. So again: you click each rock, then your char mines those and then stops and you have to click all the rocks again.

Which part of that dont you understand?

Actully it is autoing, so shut up.

ok plz explain to me why it is autoing. Because I dont see why it is... unless you cant read and misunderstand why im pointing out

Because you're character is automatically doing something. Sure, you click to begin with, but then you don't do anything further than that. It's like normal autoing, you have to enter your character's username and password in, which isn't autoing, but turning on the script is. This is nearly the same thing as aforementioned autoing.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

So what happens if your mining line is broken ie. Someone mines a rock in your line? Does that mean you automatically stop?

Bad idea anyway.

Never mind, nobody even bothers to try and understand what I typed...

lol, idiot... we udnerstand, and its autoing...

you're sposed to mine each ore yourself, not pre-click 28 of them abnd then get a drink or something...

You, obviously, did not read a word of what I typed. My question raises a very important flaw in your idea.

i wonder if the thread starter has played a lot of RTS games like warcraft and starcraft. This kind of queueing of commands was very useful to get the low level workers to build several things at once. I can see how this idea would be handy for something like mining, where you have to click every rock (unlike, say fishing or wc). If the line was broken, then you would simply go on to the next rock in your line.

However, I dont support this idea. Mining is a difficult skill to level, and should remain difficult. I agree with some of the other posters that it is essentially autoing. By your logic your 'line' could take you to the bank, bank your stuff, and continue mining, which is in essence what some bots do. If this came out, then the woodcutters would want to have a woodcutting line between trees to make the skill easier. I don't mean to go all "Mr. wise-guy" on you here, but isn't that exactly what they did with skills as smelting/smithing, cooking, crafting and whatnot? I mean, the "cook x" and similar functions also imply that I only have to click a few times and then can "go get a drink" :?. It wasn't like that in RSC (but let's not go there).

I'm not a fan of the basic idea either, though. It sounds it will make mining easier (you can pre-click 25 times or so and then watch your char to the work as someone here said before, whereas now you have to click every single rock in turn), and to be quite honest mining isn't already the hardest skill to begin with...
