June 23, 200620 yr ok this is my idea. dual weapons. use str for the skill to be able to use. ex. lvl 10 str:dual daggers lvl 20 dual shortswords lvl 30 longswords lvl 60 scimmy lvl 70 b axe i hope u like it  ps. i didnt really think about the str lvls....they can change
June 23, 200620 yr Lvl 85 Dual whips? :D Nice idea and then the old spec bakc and 2 spec bars :) for both wapons 1 thenyou could do 4 times your max
June 24, 200620 yr I'm not a big fan of this idea. If such an idea were implemented, however, the second weapon would suffer a severe stat penalty and not provide a significant bonus to defense. Yes, you get the two attacks per round, but the second attack would be no better than 1/2 what you'd normally get with that weapon. Also, certain weapons simply cannot be paired. Two-handed weapons (obviously) and any non-fixed weapon such as flails and whips. The left-hand weapon cannot be a better weapon than the right hand weapon (i.e. if you have a short sword in your right hand, you can't use a long sword in your right). Also, while using dual weapons, special attacks are rendered unusable. The goal with these restrictions is to maintain balance in the game. Using dual weapons will gain you an additional attack, with the potential of doing more damage. However, you have to balance it with a severe penalty to defense. - Sligo I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize tht what you heard is not what I meant.
June 24, 200620 yr Speciall attacks are rendered unusable for the SECOND weapon, the first can keep them. Too bad Jagex probably won't put it in the game.
June 24, 200620 yr lvl 10 str:dual daggers lvl 20 dual shortswords lvl 30 longswords lvl 60 scimmy lvl 70 b axe i especially like having levels to use these. And i also like sligos idea of the secondary weapon being weaker than the first and u cant have a long sord as secondary and a short sord for the first. I hope jagex uses this idea
June 24, 200620 yr How about Dual Defenders? Or Dual Shields? Sorry, can't resist. Personally I don't like this idea very much, but hey. I don't have any problems if it happens. Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims. ~Toxicologist~
June 24, 200620 yr They did add double weapons called defenders. its not exactly what you said but it's close. R.I.P. The olde nite. A legend is gone but not forgotten. a Faction Related Item Sink for Rune Labs. https://[LikelyScam]/m=player-proposal/a=13/c=VcG-Ir5Ijno/view-idea?idea=19
June 24, 200620 yr I mentioned that. But a defender is technically still a defending equipment, with some boost to attack as well; but I suppose it constitutes as a dual wielded weapon. Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims. ~Toxicologist~
June 24, 200620 yr Technically Defenders are a weapon. If you ask the lady up by the cyclops room, she says it is a dagger with some def bonus, not a def item with some attack bonus. So yes, duel weilding is already implemented.
June 24, 200620 yr That would be horrible unless specials were nullified. At level 10 strength you could dual-wield DDS? That would just make everyhting awful in dueling... The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
June 24, 200620 yr Hmm.. Just thinking about this - in order to be able to use a second weapon, you would need to have both agility and defense levels high enough necessary. The level requirement would be the same as the attack level requirement for that weapon. In addition, the attack skill necessary would be 50% higher. So, in order to use dual dragon weapons, you'd need 90 attack, 60 agility, and 60 defense. Make sense? - Sligo I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize tht what you heard is not what I meant.
June 24, 200620 yr i don't like this idea 2 weapons means 2 times faster training means that runescape gets easier again Computers will never be above humans because we made them. That's what monkeys used to say about us.
June 25, 200620 yr LAWL. Then everyone would get 2 weapons (they all have 1 defence nowadays, so no one cares about defence bonus), and everyone would use them to get to 99s in 2 weeks. Then pk hardcore or something. BTW this is never gonna get released. So stop deaming. They already released defenders which acts as another weapon. It gives attack and strength bonus and you get more accurate.

Using dual weapons will gain you an additional attack, with the potential of doing more damage. However, you have to balance it with a severe penalty to defense. - Sligo What is your basis for this? For one, flails and wips can be duel weilded. As a martial artist I use two nunchaku and those are nothing more than flails. As for the penalty, I think you are a little too constrained on your thinking. A penalty for duel wielding is never 1/2. In all games I have played, the penalty to the off hand weapon is only 25%. Meaning it only does 75% of its normal dmg. This is also factored in with the level of the duel wield skill. So what this means is to be good at duel wielding, you would have several skills to work. The speed of the second weapon would not have anything to do with the weapon but instead your skill in duel weild. Meaning that at low levels you might not even get that second swing in. Your attack lvl would then be checked against to see if the second swing lands or not. Then your str would determing the dmg you do if the hit is successful minuss the 25% penalty. This also opens a whole new weapon choice. They could add off hand weapons that have a defense rating. These weapons would only be equipable in the off hand and never primary. This also takes to mind the restriction to other weapons as primary. Mostly, anything of high dmg would be restricted to primary so people can't cheat the 25% defficit. Tsi Ani-Yunwiya
June 25, 200620 yr i like this idea, and i also like the whip dualing idea too. Would the special weapons have a special attack kinda? how can it be made? wut would it be made of? ~Ray \:D/ Ray::P2P::::Roaming Around::::Phat me pl0x?::::Beamster:: \:D/
June 25, 200620 yr if they do this, they'll have to move the max exp n lvl of stats also, i slightly remember on the rso forums in the suggestions that they do not want any suggestions considering a topic like this
June 25, 200620 yr This also opens a whole new weapon choice. They could add off hand weapons that have a defense rating. These weapons would only be equipable in the off hand and never primary These weapons are allready in game, they are named defenders
June 25, 200620 yr i luv this idea. as far as i know, its very original but maybe i just dont get out much When I Have It, It's the World's. When I Don't Have It, The World Is Mine.
June 25, 200620 yr This has been suggested many times, and unfortunatly will never be added, though it is kinda fun to speak hypothetically. I think I've had enough smart-alecks come in with-out reading everything and posting "Already in game, they're called defenders", we've already discussed this. The disadvantages for duel wielding is not to make it realistic, but to make it so it isn't overpowering. You would need to almost be ambedextrous (or however yoou spell it) to dual wield wips, it takes alot of strength to snap those (especially considering how heavy they must be to inflict that much in game damage, just if we're speaking realistically). Also Flails and larger than numchuka and are alot more off balance, the top is hevier than the bottum, you need the second hand to stay balanced so you don't fall. -Minoture
