MyPurpleCrayon
What are you going to be using this machine for? Ummm, a lot of gaming. And of course the regular old stuff. As of now it's the computer that's going to have to get me through college too. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so. Nadril
heh i'm hoping to upgrade once I get to college and get a job, you know get settled in and all. For the most part my PC is a fine gaming machine, I just wanna upgrade my video card (using a 6600GT atm, wanna get a 7600GT :D)
Faux
Pretty stupid to build a computer now, should've waited a month more :| With Intel's Conroe coming out, every other processor is receiving major price cuts, especially the AMD ones. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
MyPurpleCrayon
A big picture. Intel comes out with new stuff almost every 6 months, if you look at it like that then there is really no good time to buy a new computer. Plus, the one I got was on sale and came with a bunch of stuff. So it's all good. :P Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so. Faux
Less than a month is not a long time. And Intel does not make an AMD-killer every 6 months. Your choice I guess. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
MyPurpleCrayon
Man, everything has come in except the processor, and it's on back order. Now I have to wait even longer... :( Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
Kwisatz
In my opinion you should have gotten a single-core processor and a 7800gtx for better performance and longevity. I have a Pentium D 805 O/Ced to 3.4Ghz and my Athlon 64 3500+ is still faster day-to-day, probably because of the FSB but that's beside the point. The point is that dual-core processors are not yet useful for many applications and it isn't necessarily wise to invest in them for gaming, since a video card has more effect on game performance than the processor does. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
MyPurpleCrayon
Ahh well I don't know that much about it. But the person who was doing it for me, along with other people thought that this was the best thing to do. Thanks though, but it's a little too late now. :| Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

Liquid_Morph
Conroe would've been your best bet imo.
MyPurpleCrayon
Okay, if anyone ever thinks to buy an AeroCool case, don't! It's horrible. Besides the fact that it looks really cool, it is just awful. The cords that are packed in the inside of it are completely unorganized, it doesn't fit both ATX and Micro ATX like it says it does, and the front of it is cheap plastic. I'm lucky the thing didn't break on the way to my house. But other than that, I'm happy so far. Oh, and I decided to get a different moniter. It's a 19inch Widescreen LCD that we found at CompUSA on sale, it's awesome. :P Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
