saam007
I don't see what's the problem. People found it long time ago and you can just go and see what they do. why to rethink on things people already did and found how it is work and they "publish" it. Open any calculator in any fun site. Do view code. See where the JavaScript that calculate it (or find the JavaScript file they load) and see what they did. take about 10 sec to find. What u did is like inventing the wheel again. Waste of time. Visit my web-site http://www.saam007.com.Where you can find: Runescape Home Designer, Runescape Farming Tool, Runescape Sudoku Solver and how to pay membership while playing. Goobore
Wow, what a formula. Maybe this one is a little bit easier: exp needed for lvl * 1.10411419 = next lvl (got the number by dividing the levels) example: lvl 75-76 75: 1,210,421 76: 1,336,443 now the calculations: 1,210,421 * 1.10411419 = 1,336,443 Try it with the other levels, im not kidding :P Actually the number is 2^(1/7) which is 1.104089... and that comes straight out of Phil's formula... However, that number is different at the lower lvls, havent found that out yet. That's because it doesn't exist. If the exp at each level were some constant times the previous level, then that is actually an exponential function overall. But we know that the true function is an exponential plus a polynomial. At higher levels the exponential part of the function dominates and so your constant times previous level works well. But, at lower levels the polynomial dominates and there is no simple constant that works well. Hope this helps.

G0D_Zmorak
Also, just had a thought: What if I take Duke Freedom's research on the prices of rares and develop a regression algorithm for the prices of rares (i.e. inflation) THAT would be a pretty big acheivement. yeah, but unlike this, that would be mere market speculation -- which can turn out to be very accurate. it'd end up like a weather forcast, and we all know how those go... still, algorithms can make betting into a science, so you could make millions if you do it properly. GO FOR IT! :ohnoes: give it a week prices down to 10m easy... month down to 5... :-k sum1 quote me on that and see in a month lol :ohnoes:-December 6. I never lost any spears to ppl i went with. X2theZ
I find it sad and hilarious at the same time that I KNOW what you're talking about... You do know TI-84s aren't the only calc that can do these kind of functions right? You could have went to a pawn shop and bought a Graphing Calc for around $15. G0D_Zmorak
who cares what calc it is? i'm running TI-89 Titanium, which i feel is superior for my needs. it does it too. i'd bet a TI-83 could be fandangled into it as well. :ohnoes: give it a week prices down to 10m easy... month down to 5... :-k sum1 quote me on that and see in a month lol :ohnoes:-December 6. TheDecline
who cares what calc it is? i'm running TI-89 Titanium, which i feel is superior for my needs. it does it too. i'd bet a TI-83 could be fandangled into it as well. TI83 is just as good and it's easier to function, i have an 83 my friend has an 84, in math class he always asked to use mine when i was done because it was better. henk333
 And people think I'm a maths freak... I'm completely in the dark here :-s Anyways, why calculate the formula for levels beyond 99? I though Jagex said that to increase the level cap everyone had to be statwiped and start over. Besides, it takes forever to get level 99, so why would you want more? Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)
Simba
I made a spreadsheet some time ago in which you can type in your experience, and it tells you your exact level. Hint: Use logarithms as well, not just quartic functions ;) ... Linear interpolation would also work, but would probably take a rather long time to work out, plus wouldn't be nearly as neat :) ...
