July 1, 200620 yr What's with the sudden prices surges? do the merchants know something we don't, some people think the prices are surging before theres a crash or something, others just use the old saying 'rares only get rarer' i checked the price of blues not too long ago (not really into rares so was a few weeks ago i think) when they were around the 230mil mark... now they are 550mil :shock: anyone care to explain and is it worth investing in rares now or is something bad going to happen which could cause the biggest catastrophy in the RS economy? 99 Range - 88 Defence - 91 Hitpoints99 Combat - 1650+ Total

July 1, 200620 yr no more rares avalible and more people playing therefor the ration of rares to players (rares:players) is getting smaller so the prices rise as they become more rare personally i have 2 santas when they were 7m ea \ \ 1593th to 99 Farming - July 08.

July 1, 200620 yr I know, can't wait for Blue P-Hats to be a bil so I can see them crash since no one will be able to buy them. \ \ That's so logical, Never thought of that before. i think ur being sarcastic, but this is how prices of p hats somewhat work. ok, well you have your pool of merchants, some good some bad...sometimes merchants leave the pool, and sometime new ones join.. prices of p hats are whatever the merchant wants to pay for his p hat as an investment....the lower merchants finnally get enough to afford a p hat, and they offer to buy...this is what drives the prices up, people wanting to buy the phat... then when the price is up so high, the person who bought it for cheaper, decides to sell, and merchant/skill with that money, and maybe invest into some smaller rares. some days, a successful merchant will decide, its time to cash out and work some other aspects of the game...and they sell their rares. this is a poor explanation of this, but its kinda gets you to the point. also im sure a good percentage of ppl with p hats have had them since they were under 10M and now they are swimming in dough...ppl who have never merchanted in there life.
