If I were you I'd take it out and look into a nVidia GeForce. (Also there a less expense ones) They can be pricey but I've never had any trouble with them. I don't now much about ATI graphics cards, but my friends swears by them.

I don't buy radion card Nvidia ftw!!!

Im waiting for the quads to come out, then im gonna buy one \'

I suggest an equivelant GeForce card (In price.) It'll problem perform better.

My two cents.

He just got the x1300.... he'd just be wasting his money and time by getting an equivalent nVidia card

I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.

How is spending the exact same amount of money for a better card a waste of money? And time? Does a GeForce take longer to ship?

From what he said, he *already* has the X1300....

And it's really going to be a trivial difference if you stay within the same price range.

Its not the greatest card out there but it should be able to run what you need it to run. There is no need to swap it out for an nVidia card just because "nVidia are teh r0x0rz n they are teh better than ATi!!!11!"

Just leave it for now and when you find there are games it cant handle that you want to play, then its time for an upgrade.

i just put in an x1600. it runs preety good, but i only put it in cause i didnt have a express slot.

but if you do happen to have an express slot return the 1300 cause nvidia has a really good cheap one that i was gona get. the 6600oc 512mb from bfg. its really good for only 200 bucks.

Why are there some many Nvidia fanboys are here today? Jeez ATI cards are just as good. I believe ATI are more bang for your buck. Look at the 1800XT($240) vs. 7900GT ($280-300). The 1800XT wins in most benchmarks.

ATI cards (that can support it) can also run HDR and AA at the same time! Nvidia cards can not.

I am not an ATI fanboy I like both brands, but consider ATI while making graphics card selections just because you have a certan brand of card doesn't make it the best.

X1300 is a fine mid-range card (it's the budget level of the modern era of ATI cards), though it's not great. It's of poor value from ATI, even though it's a budget card, there's just not a lot of bang-for-the buck. But since you can't change that, it will definately do amazing for CS and fine for CS:S. It might not run F.E.A.R. on high detail, and don't look to be playing Crysis. I wouldn't have bought it if you had the choice, but since you sorta already have it, don't worry, it's not outdated, just poor value.

im preety shure the best ati is x1900 crossfire and x1900 xtx; both $500 (at bestbuy)

and the best nvidia i think is the geforce 7900 gtx oc from bfg. $500 (at bestbuy)

you could always get a quad sli setup with nvidia. thats 4 cards = 1. thats preety much the best. not shure of the price though, and how much the guy will charge to install.

Latest & Greatest from ATi:

ATI Radeon X1900XTX 512MB PCI-Express

Or, for the best overclockability, the new'ish product from Sapphire (ATi's main card manufacturer), the ATI Sapphire TOXIC X1900XTX which is liquid cooled.

Latest & Greatest from nVidia:

nVidia GeForce 7950GX2 1024MB

It's basically 2 graphics cards in 1, it actually is not as good as you think.

Also, to you nVidia fanboy shaggers, your wrong. No fanboyism here but, it's been proved and just admit defeat, ATi's IQ (Image Quality) is far superior to nVidia's, also, ATi takes WAY LESS of a performance hit when AA and AF are turned on.

In my opinion, get a X1900XTX.

mwp9oo.jpg

Defently go with a x1900XT(X) card. Don't go for crossfire it's not worth it for the money you pay.
