greenslime89
As a keen photographer, I have been looking for other photographers to exchange opinions, ideas, camera techniques, Photoshop techniques and photo subjects and even locations with outstanding photo opportunities. So here I go with my first section: Digital Vs Film The Digital Vs Film topic is a favourite of mine as the ever-changing world of photography means that the quality of images from the digital cameras almost matches that of the film cameras. Instantly after taking a photo on a digital camera you can look and decide if you like it, and therefore want to keep it, don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like it but feel you can fix it on a Photoshop programme, or don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like it and delete it and try again. This is great to have for the beginner photographers who have a fairly complicated camera and are trying to gain experience with the more complex areas of photography. While they can use the automatic mode on the camera this leaves little room for the photographer̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s creativity, where they can underexpose the shot when taking a photo into the direction of the sun, to create a silhouette of the objects in front of the sun but when you use an automatic mode the camera automatically exposes the shot for you and gives you an ugly looking photo. Since you can upload your photos from the camera to the computer and print off the ones you want the cost of development is lower than film and you only get the good photos, so you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t waste money on photos you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want. With film cameras you must buy rolls of film and every time you fill the film you have to spend more money buying a new roll of film, but with digital, you can reuse the camera̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s memory card as many times as you like. However, if you want to take more photos before having to upload them onto your computer or a portable storage device you will need to buy a card with a larger memory. I have twenty 32Mb cards, which can hold 20 good resolution photos each. This means I have to change cards more often but I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not entrusting all my photos to a little chip that can be damaged easily. So when I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m out taking photos I can take up to 400 photos before having to head home. Of course, there are much larger memory cards, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and even 8GB! Naturally, as the memory increases so does the price. Digital images have a major drawback. If they want to enlarge their photos they must have a high-resolution camera, with more pixels. The more pixels a camera has, the bigger an image can be before it starts to lose quality. Most cameras have a resolution of 3-6 Mega Pixels (million pixels) but there are cameras designed for professional photographers which can exceed 20MP but these are extremely expensive, for a 22MP camera you could expect to pay over ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã7000 for the body alone, you would then need to buy lenses, flashes and filters to make it useable. However, these cameras offer extra controls and a wider range of apertures. An aperture is for focusing, there are ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅF numbers̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà Photos! jak722
Seems photography is taking off in TIF. :-k You might be better off in the Gallery instead. remoteman
yer they both deffinantly haev their benefits. the digital camera is great for taking to parties, camping, and even underwater, which was previously very expensive as you had to buy a casing for your camera which was bulky and a pain to use. i still prefer using a film camera for taking shots for competitions and such, especially when doing black and white ones. + developing your own film is fun :D. most professional photographers have gone to digital now though, as most of these cameras are up to the same standard as film now that camera companies are not looking into improving them. at school i do b&w photography and it has recently got a heap more expensive now that AGFA has gone bust, we have to use ilford instead :(. you can't beat being in a darkroom though, its great :P they both have there different positive aspects but i think digitals are well and truely taking over the majority of the market. the fact that you don't need to pay extra money to get your photo's printed and that u can do them ureself is another point that i forgot to mention that would greatly influence someone looking to buy a camera. dark_shadow
Digital for me. Personally, I prefer Digital Olympus cameras. for me theyre convenient; so long as my cam takes AA batteries, i have tonnes of good quality rechargeables, so i can go on long holidays and just take all the batteries and space cards for the camera. last trip i went on, it was a week long; i got hundreds of photos. at least with digital, you can take as many photos as you like, go back and delete ones you dont like, and take more! your not restricted to rolls of 24 film. but thats my opinion! may post a thread soon of the photos i took from my latest holiday Featuring in my sig: TURT, ma pet turdle! Thanks to- Runemetsa and Aijiru for two of the great sigs!Avatar made by me

deloriagod
I love taking photographs. I also prefer digital because I'm not very good so I tend to delete a lot of pictures and retry. But I haven't been able to take pictures for quite some time because I lost the recharger to my camera battery. Once I get through drivers ed this fall and get a job I'm going to buy a new camera and take lots more pictures :D Also those pictures are very nice. I like the flower pics. I tend to like pictures that focus on one point and the rest of the picture is blurred. Internet Marketing For Newbies

They were awsome prints. the fact that you don't need to pay extra money to get your photo's printed and that u can do them ureself is another point that u forgot to mention that would greatly influence someone looking to buy a camera. Thanks - I'll update that when I have more time Where do you live?? couldn't afford to read your whole post as i am leaveing for church... but anyway cool looking place there... i want a palm tree in my town Scotland, those photos were taken on a holiday to Tunisia using my old 3MP camera since I didn't have my Fujifilm Finpix S7000 at that time. I have to say, Tunisia's scenery is stunning. Photos!
