July 6, 200620 yr Let me know what you think. This is my first try at doing a signature. I also need some help getting it down to 30kb. Let me know what I can do to make it better. \
July 6, 200620 yr Well.. There isn't much to comment on. Looks like you just did a few cloud/difference clouds renders, changed the color to red, threw on a render without blending it, and wrote your name in text that had not been edited in any way. I mean you have the basics down, I guess. You just need to work on making your render fitting better into your background, making your background.. a bit more complex to say the least, and make your text.. less boring. But I'm not an expert and I might be repeating what you already know, but I figured since no one gave you any feedback I would try my best. July 6, 200620 yr The background is plain, the render doesn't blend at all, and the text just doesn't seem to fit... It is your first though so I will cut you some slack. :D Just practice on blending the render in and making the backround a little more interesting. Also, try matching the colors to the render a little. Just keep practicing and maybe look at a few tutorials to learn a thing or too. Finally, may I ask what program your using?
July 6, 200620 yr Author Im using GIMP and any tips on how to blend the render to the background and how to get it to fit as my sig?
July 6, 200620 yr how did you make THAT above 30kb? its a few clouds + red, and a pish poor render, with NO blending. =\ and the text.... bleugh edit: before you do ANYTHING you should start out doing tutorials to get to know what certain filters do, and how to put things together. i know im not the best, im not even good compared to some guys here at sig making, but i like te ones i make ^_^ im still learning. i suggest u get some brushes and play about with them. July 7, 200620 yr Author Here is another one I made, I think I blended it but im not positive what you meant by that :-k
July 7, 200620 yr Author This one is 64kb so i cant use it as a sig. Im not sure what I did wrong :wall: . Could someone resize it for me or tell me how.
July 7, 200620 yr Eh, at least you tried to blend. Blending works better if you choose background colors that mach the render itself. Look at my sig and Weeboab's for an example. As for the filesize, don't worry about that so much for now. Just keep trying to make good sigs...
July 7, 200620 yr It's not great but it's a very big improvement. Work on the text and keep practicing... Nice job.
July 7, 200620 yr To size it down, save it as a .jpeg and change the quality to get it as close to 30kb as possible. Internet Marketing For Newbies
July 7, 200620 yr Wow, pretty good for your first few sigs. But like someone else already said, do some tutorials. I'm not sure how to blen renders in gimp, so I can't help you there. You REALLY need to work on that text though. July 7, 200620 yr Author Thanks for all the sig advice everyone and deloria for the size advice.
July 8, 200620 yr Author Here is my fav. Simple but I love it. I think maybe my file size was so big was because I was saving as .png.
July 8, 200620 yr Your new one is the best one yet. The render doesn't really need to blend in that much because of the kind of render it is. It would be nice for a little blend but the way you have it is decent. The text seems better and the background is nice. Good job...
July 8, 200620 yr Author Thank You  I decided to move the text to make it a bit more visible.
July 8, 200620 yr youve made alot of improvement! =D> try using http://www.good-tutorials.com and i think you can download brushes from http://www.deviantart.com (sp?) -All sigs by me.[My Gallery]
July 8, 200620 yr You said you use GIMP right? If so, the best place for brushes is definitely here: CLICKY As for tutorials: CLICKY
July 8, 200620 yr 3 days. I'd have to say, you are learning awfully fast. That last one you made isn't bad at all. The 'render' fits in well, and you did a nice job of ballancing it out. I'd have to say great job for a 3 days improvment. You went from a crappy clouds filter to something someone can look at and actualy enjoy a bit :)
