goblinmatt12
Heres the story. This kid I know went to florida for a few weeks. While he was gone he got a computer (never really had one). He now knows how to "hack" and even hacked H&R block :^o . Its hard to believe he is 15! He's been showing me and some friends a site that "shows you how to hack" and it pretty much says you need basic programing skills. Can somone give me some basic C++ or pearl questions to make him look like a moron :P I can post his replys if you wish EDIT: Questions like "how do I....." Why does......" fr0zen_r4nge
C++ is a programming language which you need to know the language to code in for example you can make scripts when you click something, something pops up... here are a few codes, ask him what they are... this is a batch file code if he says its a batch file opener or says batch file at all he knows a little i doubt it Code: @ECHO OFF C: CD\Program Files\Blah\Blah BOOM.b

fr0zen_r4nge
here are some more... It isn't always possible do for a function to have a defined number of arguments, for instance, the printf function from c can have any number of arguments, though they may not all be used. In order to do this, you must use the ellipsis (...), which, in common words, means that there may be some more arguments. The declaration of printf is a good example: int printf(const char* ...); The const char* argument means that at least one argument must be passed. In order to use the va_* macros (va_list, va_start, va_arg and va_end), you must include the cstdarg header (stdarg.h for uses in C). There are four macros in this header, va_list, va_start, va_arg and va_end. You start by defining a variable of type va_list. va_list ap; Then you initialize it with a call to va_start(), by passing the va_list and the argument preceding the ellipsis. va_start(ap, `argument before ellipsis`); Once the va_list is defined and initialized, the va_arg() function is used to pick the unnamed arguments in order, supplying the list and the type of the argument for every call. If there are no arguments left, va_arg will return NULL (or 0 in C++). int* i = va_arg(ap, int*); if(i == 0) /*Do wtv you wanna do*/ else /*Do wtv you wanna do*/ Finally, before returning from the function which used va_start(), one must call va_end() with the va_list as sole argument, because the use of va_start() may have modified the stack in such ways that a successful return from the function could create problems or even be impossible. va_end() undoes the modifications. va_end(ap);

trapical
any putz that stumbles across http://www.astalavista.com and downloads something often considers themselves a "hacker" that knows of this "black site". Its easy to know the principle of hacking, actually doing it is a whole differnet ballgame

This is similar to if I went on myspace and I saw a page where someone is cutting their wrists, I'd say they're emo. It's not an insult, it's an educated asumption. Personally, if I had a friend saying he could hack and probably couldn't, I'd say good for you and then go smoke tobacco

Yeah, but its eventually fueled by greed. In my opinion, we never will be hack free for as long as Norton wants to make money, there will be hackers to supply money for them
