Stupid CD keys.

Featured Replies

I hate CD keys. There has to be a better way to prevent piracy than inconveniencing your honest paying customers over and over again.

I just bought Dawn of War: Winter Assault and was excited to play it. I went to install it and it told me to enter the CD key. No porblem!

...Well, it would have been, had they included the damn thing. I mean honestly, what kind of company ships games that blatantly do NOT include the CD key? There is a space that says the CD key should be there, but it is not. As if they forgot to put the little sticker on, but shipped it anyways.

I called Gamestop. They gave me the "and I should dooooo...what?" speal, and THQ pretty much told me the same thing.

Great. I love wasting $20!

So...Anyone have a DoW:WA CD key I can use? :roll::lol:

....... i remember that you could make up your own ... the code was somewhere in the files... game was B&W

Well, there are plenty of sites that could help you, but I'd advise caution as they tend to contain a lot of spyware and other junk like that. Going to such a site with IE practically kills it. (I won't link you to any of the sites as it's against the rules >_>)

Yeah I could help you, but its illegal lol. I'd probably get banned aswell.

I just found a CD key via Google. Those "Keygen" generator's are virus's, worms, spyware, etc so I can't use that of course. I found it via someone's comment on a forum I found on Google. :P

It's not piracy if I bought the darn game, so everyone can keep those comments to themselves. :P I paid my money, I have every right to use a CD key that isn't the "right" one!

Just had to rant about it. The last DoW game I bought had the same situation, as did a few other games I bought that were distrubuted by THQ. I dunno' what their deal is, lol.

Getting CD keys here is illegal. I would not try third party sources either, since they compromise your computer's safety.
