This essentially makes elemental runes useless. This is like saying, how about we create a bow that only requires arrow shafts to fire? It automatically feathers and heads them.

Well we have crystal bows already... I have to agree with you though.

 

 

 

Anything more than the 2-rune staffs we have now is just stupid. Also I hope that no future 2-rune staffs replace air runes... Airs are probably most commonly used rune in the game. Anyway, the elemental runes aren't even hard to get. And for the spells that use the most of them, you can replace them all with one of the currently existing staffs.
