Does anyone else besides me seem to have a really hard time getting the other piece of the septre from the cata's? ive been here for almost 3 hours and still havent gotton a piece of staff lol

It actually took me longer the further along I progressed. I ended up killing 42 Ankou for the last piece.. ohh well, it was 20 lobs well spent. :lol:

it took me around an hour or so to get the piece form the catablepods...it was the longest compared to only 10-15 minutes each for the other pieces... \

YES!!!! I GOT THE STUPID PIECE!!! ONLY 1 MORE TO GO!!!

Only took me 30 minutes to get the whole staff.

Didn't take me long at all (as in about 15 minutes) to get all the parts for a staff... :) ...I figured out the secret!!! When attacking a specific monster for a piece of the sceptre, attack the highest level version of the monster. Instant easy pieces. :)

lol well lucky you guys im glad that you had such success in getting it. i was killing the level 60's of catas and it still took me well over 4 hours to get that stupid piecee and im not even gonna try for the other piece yet =;

It's crazy how long it takes to get a piece from the cata's it took me over 3 hours and trust when u get the full staff it isn't actully that great i thought it was a waste of time getting it then again it got my from 60 combat to 64 :thumbsup:

well congratulations lol. i went from level 30 to level 41 on catas

I managed to get all of them before my food ran out. Cant really remember how long.

 

I think it was about an hour to complete the whole thing. The ankous took like 10 min, the cata's 20+, the cave thingies 1 min (got one on second kill :D) and the minotaurs, hmm lets think, those took long... I got over 250 iron arrows while doing it. I guess half an hour.

Minotaurs: 25 killed

 

Flesh Crawlers: 18 killed

 

Catablepons: 394 killed

 

Ankous: 2 killed

Got tired of sending my two pures, and so sent my main in, full rune armor with D-hide vambs.

 

 

 

Minotaurs: Easy - barely touched me, and 10-20 of them revealed the skull piece and only about 18 arrows, plus an ess note and some coins collected.

 

 

 

Flesh crawlers: Did the level 28's in the corridor, agressive even though I was a few levels beyond the 2x+1. Still a fair bit of food left (out of a load of swordies), so onward...

 

 

 

Catablepons: Absolute hell, burned the rest of the food with no luck, but got a couple of pairs of laws.

 

 

 

Gave up on catas with the next run, and took melee + mage to the Ankous..

 

 

 

 

 

Ankous: Went in with mage, but got hit too much, switched to melee while looking for a safe spot, no reliable cover. Once they went non-aggressive, sought cover and landed crumbles with no retaliation. Got second skull piece, went and burned rest of food on catas.

 

 

 

On about the 3rd or 4th cata run, finally got the last piece.

 

 

 

I'd recommend the melee/mage combo (for full runers with decent mage) against the Ankous, since melee is a slow battle with many misses, while crumbles toast them with almost every shot - means carrying double kit and less food, but so long as you can hold on until the non-agressive point, then you can mage them in peace - to be real cheap, just craft airs and minds and then fire strike with a staff.

got about 10 left skulls in bank 4 bottom spectres havent got time go on two last floors :lol:

I usually get sceptre part on my second trip with full lobs trying to get top piece...so it took me like an hour to get my first scepter provided that i had stockpiled food in bank.
